It's All About The Coaching
It all comes down to the head coach when we talk about winning. Remember when UT had a nationally-ranked men's golf program? The coach left and now we're middle of the pack. Or women's softball. We had great teams that made it to the college world series. Coach leaves and now we've been bad forever. Same thing may happen with cross country.

For those who think great facilities will bring in the recruits and wins, look at Ball State. They renovated their stadium, but there are better high school fields. Their recruiting classes aren't that great. They've had big attendance problems and underpaid coaches. Ball State just got a video scoreboard in 2013. Hell, even Whitmer HS has one. And they don't have an indoor practice facility. Know who else doesn't have an IPF? Northern Illinois. Sure has hurt them.

In MAC basketball two of the smallest and most out-of-date arenas are at Kent and Akron, the two most dominant teams in the league.

The point is that while we're wondering when the next new addition to the Glass Bowl will happen, maybe we've overlooking the most important aspect of winning-the coach.
