At one point he was actually wiping spit off his chin during the rant that had drueled down. I will never ever get on any Huskie fan who stood up for their team when they were referred to as an absolute joke and "NORTHERN Illinois". To call someone idiotic who was insulted by that is just wrong. Heck it pissed off Ryan Diem and he played for the Huskies. Not everything the national media says is true, no matter how handsome or charming or cool they might be.

I think this whole discussion is ridiculous, but that was pretty funny.

1. Showing up in red wont matter...they are playing O$U...only NIU flags/logos and Lynch fatheads will be noticeable.

2. Herby was attacking the system but did it in a crappy way towards NIU...fortunately that put even more attention on NIU so really its better in the end.

3. Gameday would be great in DeKalb but seriously that is not happening with our remaining Saturday opponents.

We don't need to go flaunting NIU stuff at someone else's home game (that we are not playing in) to get noticed

When he leaned into the camera and said "NORTHERN Illinois", it became personal. I would have had not one issue with the rant if he had also talked about how Louisville and Wisconsin should have been overlooked in favor of Oklahoma also.

Any time you can show NIU in the media do it. You have other people showing up at Gamedays all the time flying the flags of other schools. We should be representing NIU anytime we can.

i never took Herbie's comments personally. the process of how we got in was a bit crazy/unlikely.
