RE: SBC Rankings after Week 5?
I'm starting to think USA is the best team right now, even though TXST looked good today.

RE: SBC Rankings after Week 5?
I hope we get a huge rain delay every week so Fran can figure out how to adjust for the second half lol. I would however argue that our defense is playing lights out and THANK YOU Fran for pulling Tyler Jones' redshirt, Ardnt just looked scared back there.

If it weren't for the loss to SUU, I might think something similar. Right now, TXST's only loss is to a top 25 ranked Texas Tech team that we held to no rushing TDs and came down to the 4th quarter. Not saying we're the best, but just pointing out a key difference. Let the conference games decide the victors!

Yeah, but they beat us. I'm bargaining here, quit messing with it. I think they had a slow start, but now are about to start rolling. Just have to wait and see it play out. WKU is behind the 8 ball from here on out.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually think we are the team to beat going into conference play. Our defense is awesome and we now have a QB that can run this offense. Of course Tyler Jones will have his true freshman growing pains but I have faith in any QB that wins a State Championship in Texas.

RE: SBC Rankings after Week 5?
TXST and USA both got a break with the schedule playing 4 conference home games but so did Ark St

WKU
LA Lafayette
ULM
Troy Crybabies

only got 3 home conference games

Confidence plays a big part in winning so before I say TXST or USA are the teams to beat I will wait till they get their pants knocked off and see how they respond afterwards. It will happen and then we will see how they come back from it in conference play.

If Texas Tech didn't do it and Wyoming didn't do it I don't know who will

Doesn't playing Georgia State even all that out? I mean does it really matter where anyone plays them this year? If it does, you aren't going to win a championship anyway.

I guess ULM is the only one that got the short end of the stick with only two non-Georgia State games at home.

I will say this about ASU, TxSt, WKU, and USA. Whoever plays them better put on their big boy pants.

You are about to find out....do not misunderstand me. We are expecting a great game Saturday. Winning on the road in the Belt aint easy. Especially in front of the crowd that you will see Saturday night. Hope TXST brings a ton of fans....makes it that much better.

Not all of us are crybabies, at this point. USA will be a big test for the Trojans this weekend. If we act like a spread team and not a power running team, we can win...pass early...run late is my prescription.

Got to love WKU fans and their hatred for Troy. They call us cry babies, but they opened a thread crying that they didn't get a spot in the SBC commercial. Who are the crybabies again? Don't be another FIU go out with a little bit of dignity.

My observation of a middle school produced SB conf. commercial during a WKU home game on ESPN News in which WKU STILL in the conf. did not appear equals to FIU? Oh ok...03-banghead I would say 32 years of dignity is a lot longer than your university and FIU have shown...

I don't want to even rank this week because I honestly don't know whether to put ULM or GSU last. We are that bad folks. Such high expectations to a crap sandwich.
We are just plain awful. Every time ULM has a chance to move up and prove the naysayers wrong they blow it. I feel like Charlie Brown getting the ball pulled away trying to kick the field goal. Speaking of we can't kick those either.

RE: SBC Rankings after Week 5?
I said it last week and I still believe that there isn't a lot of difference between the top and bottom except for Georgia State. It is very tight and it is going to come down to who is playing well in conference and injuries. On that note, if Browning is hurt then I might drop ULM out of the race.

Troy went on the road and put up a lot of points in a narrow loss to Duke and ASU led in the third and trailed by 4 going into the 4th against Mizzou. Those two are not out of the running by any stretch. I wouldn't worry too much about the first five weeks of non-conference.

I think these OOC games have worn everyone out. I'm ready to get some conference play going and enjoy our competition. Gentlemen start your engines, its SBC championship race time :) my favorite time of the year.
