Georgia Southern 23 Chattanooga 21 FINAL
This was a very hard fought game. We made the game-winning FG with about 2 minutes left to win it. Chattanooga must seem snake-bit against us. They play us extremely close almost every year and come up short almost every year. I guess this may be the last time we play Chatt. in football but there were some very good games like the one tonight.

That was one hell of a game. I have no voice right now. Radio show said that it reached 110 decibels on the field during the 4th quarter. Chatty always gives us good games and it was no different tonight.

I'm glad McKinnon stepped up in this game. Way to be a leader.

Thanks. We had about 17,000 tonite and it was very loud. Until the construction is finished the crowd is limited to about 18,000 so we were close to capacity. The noise tonight undoubtedly affected Chattanooga in the 4th quarter as it led to a number of delay/false starts penalties, and we needed every one of them to win.

They have also had the same luck against us recently. They play hard but just don't have enough to get the win.

I am afraid this is the year to settle the score with App State though. The blood is in the water SoCon, come and get it.03-banghead03-banghead03-banghead All those years of blowouts, close games where App slips by, or comes from behind in wild fashion are over, this team doesn't have the mojo.

You would never have convinced me before it happened this year that App would lose to both N.C. A&T and Charleston Southern at home in the same year. When the score was announced last night at our game the reaction was more of surprise than of cheer.

That being said I have been to Boone a number of times and I fully expect us to be very hard-pressed to get out of there with a win, which we have stuggled to do on many, many occasions.

Trust me when I say this, the former Kidd Brewer Stadium curse we had going on, you know the one where you come up the mountain and get physically beaten and sent back down with a loss one, is reversed.

Teams are coming into KBS and THEY look like the ones wearing the all black uniforms of recent years. I remember during my tenure as a player and afterwards we didn't lose at home for over 5 years, we had the mindset that we couldn't.

I honestly believe these coaches get a free ride this year and the chess match doesn't seem to be falling in Apps favor at the moment. As long as the fans support the team, seniors mainly, take your lumps and prepare for next year. There's a bulls eye on a couple of must win games this year. Win those and forget about the rest. I wish you total failure in that endeavor.04-jawdrop

Lot of things can change between now and when we play this year.
I sent our coaches a copy of "Football for Dummies" so maybe they will read it by then.
Any team we have lost to this year is still undefeated, so no telling how good they are.
Even if GaSo has another conference win right now you would still be behind us in the conference.
So get ready for us. We may relearn how to play football by the time we see you guys.
Or not.

I don't care what y'all do the rest of the season, BEAT CHATTANOOGA!

Seriously, as much as Southern and Appy have a healthy dislike for each other, at least we have mutual respect. Chattanooga is about as low as you can get on the respect-o-meter.

I know some schools post questionable attendance numbers... but I'll take our 17,000 fans over anyone else in the sunbelt.

Only lost two games to them in last 1/4 century. Been @ 10 years, so hope we beat Chatty. I think you have only lost one game to them since their current coach came on board. Have never seen a team lose as many games over the years by so few points though.
As long as our coaches read Football Coaching for Dummies by then we should be OK hopefully.

Who is that guy on AGS that likes to mouth off from Chatt Town?

Good win for Southern, but I think their hands will be full at Samford. Tough game, good luck.

Unfortunately I agree. They've played us tough since joining the SoCon and we're so banged up at FB and SB, who knows what to expect.

When did Appy go 5 years without losing at home? GSU holds the two longest home winning streaks in the FCS, and I don't think either spanned 5 complete years.

If you guys like it so much, Georgia Southern could always urge the Sun Belt to take in UT-Chattanooga so that you could continue your close games.

It's going to be a hard game, i'm seriously worried about it. Won't be surprised if they upset us.
