Mariano Rivera
No matter what you feel about the Yanks- one hell of a way they sent him out tonight... Loved that they had Jeter and Pettitte come out to pull him....

Saw Rays manager Joe Maddon tweet comparing tonight to Cal Ripken.
"For me tonight was not unlike the Ripken moment. Hard to imagine anyone surpassing Mariano. It's like DiMaggio's streak: untouchable."

turns out Maddon was on the Angels coaching staff in 1995, the year Ripken broke the record. It was a very similar scene. In fact the one thing that I saw that is extremely similar is the veterans(with Ripken it was Bobby Bonilla and Rafael Palmeiro) with Rivera it looked like it was actually ARod- forced them to go out for more of a curtain call...

I don't know that I see Pettitte as a HOF. And Jeter isn't retiring yet.
