A team is as good as the teams it plays. Facts: ECU cleared its bench the 4th quarter against FAU........MTU went overtime to win. Just like some "others" fail to remember MTU will have to win games on field of play and not a computer output based on raw data input.

Yeah, you can play that game all you want. And I agree - rankings don't mean ****. Winning on the road and winning at home are two different things though. We won't know what kind of team we have as far as conference standing is concerned until next Saturday. Can't wait for the Pirates to get to town.

One thing is sure........it will be the one of smallest crowds and cheapest seat for any game ECU plays away this season. ECU averages over 48,000 and seat prices from $45-$60.

Dude literally everyone on this board knows that about or tix/fans.

MTSU WILL NOT be the smallest crowd. Out of 6 away games they will be either #3 or #4 and the first two are BCS schools (which ECU will help fill their stadiums for them). Give them a break already. WKU/UNT/MTSU/LT have all been playing football for about as long as our school has even existed. Lay off.... if you want to feel important pick on the start-ups or re-start-ups or something....Yes, I know. We draw more fans, more pricey tickets, bigger budget, etc.... it's okay.................what's the point of rubbing it in everyone's face?

@Banker, I know I said I ignore them but I particularly like MTSU... and facts.

As a matter of fact I plan to go to MTSU game and I ordered tickets from ECU to support the cause for both schools budgets. Question
.......who are them and are you supporting nonpirates against pirates??????

I do give ECU credit. We pack 45-50k to watch the pirates pirates play regardless of opponent. Our football team belongs in a BCS league with the level of support we give them, our team belongs well before Pitt, Cuse, Oregon state, Washington state, Indiana, WF and many others. If their teams were in the AAC much less CUSA I doubt they'd put 40k in the stands....not exactly fair for wake due to their low enrollment but you get my point.

I just don't care for the hate on the teams who've been playing football 100 years. They are coming to CUSA to try to build their program, unlike many of the start ups who are just handed a free pass. Start ups deserve to begin their program in FCS and build from there (no offense, it's just that everyone else started from the bottom).

Boy, I might as well just give up my MT fanhood and become an ECU fan. Thanks for letting me know about ECU's attendance - I had no other way of knowing. I don't think I've ever seen an attendance figure or conversation about attendance from an ECU fan in my entire time on this board. $45? Man that is impressive. Maybe you guys should beg to get into the SEC.

You're hilarious, bro.

And yes, I'm well aware that this ass clown doesn't represent the entire ECU fanbase. I have alot of respect for ECU's program, and that's where I want us to be.

Only Marshall, ECU, Rice, UNT and UTSA haven't played any real stinkers. They've each looked really good in spots. I'd guess Marshall and ECU are the 2 best, but it's those 5....so far.

Okay Marv, didn't mean to call you out like that. It just seemed like I saw you in the crossfire a lot. I know you don't instigate a lot of the crap.

Neither side is innocent in all of this. It seems like if one side isn't reacting to a quip from the opposing fan base they are throwing the quip. It's very annoying.

As Pirate fans we should really care less about all the BS. If anyone says we suck and will finish last then let them. It will make victory that much better. The record books will always show we own CUSA (except USM) *note CUSA fans, not trying to brag - it's the truth* and if they wan't to talk down to us then fine. At the end of the day we know who we are and they know who we really are, the records don't lie.

While I'm ranting - to no one in particular - who cares if we got VT at home or Marshall played gardner webb or MTSU lost to UNC or any of that. We will all get our chance to play each other. It's okay. No need to get worked up.

First of all I am not angry or anything like that; it is just that Banker has made it his mission to make life Hell for anyone that didn't agree with the prophecy of Phil Steele. Steele made a prediction about Marshall that I just didn't think was going to happen; because I just can't see Doc Holliday putting together the kind of coaching consistency that it would take to make it happen. My replies set Banker off, because he told me at that time that he had been to practices and scrimmages and that they looked great. I responded by saying that his team looked great playing against each other, but that he needed to wait until the real games actually began to judge Doc. Banker has hated me every since.

Apparently no one ever recalls that I wrote that Marshall has talented players. Or that I was actually pretty nice to a Marshall poster that point blank wrote that Marshall would beat VT, but instead of ripping on him; I kind of told him nicely that he should wait to see if they could handle Ohio first. And even after they lost to Ohio, I said that Marshall would have a chance to beat VT; because Logan Thomas is terrible, but of course Banker doesn't seem to recall any of that.

Just so you know there is no controversy from where I sit, but that doesn't stop Banker from going into thread after thread and throwing me under the bus; even when I have not posted in a thread. He surely must just be boiling with anger now, because about 6 weeks ago I advised him that by week 5 of the season there would be Marshall fans posting "Fire Doc Holliday threads" on this board. Well look a here:

http://csnbbs.com/showthread.php?tid=651...pid9776434

05-stirthepot

Btw, I have said similar stuff about ECU losing to VT, my reasoning was that VT cornerbacks and safeties were really good at busting up ECU's passing routes and that the ECU OC was too inflexible to adjust. I made statements about Tulsa, MTSU and others. Some of my statements have been wrong and some have been right; but for reasons unknown to me, my statements have really hit a nerve with Banker.

The bottom line is if you say anything negative about Marshall or anything positive about ECU you are on banker's hit list. HIs treads are nothing but his opinions as well as little facts to back up anything he says or support. I enjoy your treads so keep it up.

@R2 and Marv, I hear y'all. I respect everyone's opinion. I just wish all sides could keep the mud slinging down so it's easier to read through helpful information. I agree some fans aren't happy when we post anything that goes against what they want to hear. They'll know at the end of the season. We all will know.

We understand and appreciate what you are saying, but what you are not seeing is that character's attempt at baiting. He even attempted baiting in that ECU v. UNC game thread, but no one would bite. Banker is a master baiter; he is no amateur.

Most Rice fans think the FAU game was a real stinker, even though FAU found a way to lose the game to a spirited Rice defense in the fourth quarter.
