^^ As a comparison, I have postd San Diego State's 2013 Uniforms as they are with Nike and share the same colors. Just picture our helmet on this uniform and compare to what we currently have.

Shipments of team gear were often late and missing items. The amount of practice gear and casual wear for students athletes was about 1/3 what our players get now. The equipment managers had a hard time getting what they needed from Nike. The equipment guys I have spoke to say the customer service they get and the quality of product they get from adidas is worlds above anything Nike ever provided.

I totally agree. They have a well balanced, classic, simplified look.

And for everyone who's so disappointed with Adidas why are you clamoring to be a second or third-class citizen with Nike instead of on the highest level with Adidas?
Why is everyone so sure Nike wouldn't allow UC to be a more prominent affiliate this time around? In fact, I don't even really know what people mean by "third-class Nike citizens". I've seen it mentioned many times on this board that Nike didn't treat UC very well, but I don't get what that means. I really liked the old UC football uniforms (2005-2007), as well as the basketball uni's. In fact, I liked the football unis a lot more than what we have now (just wished we had an alternate red jersey from Nike).
Nike has come quite a way since 2007, so has adidas. I'm not necessarily hoping for a return to Nike, just don't understand why so many would be against it.

The black Unis had the Black numbers and names you could barely see...which I may be in the minority, but I kind of liked them. I could always tell who someone is simply by looking at them or simply their mannerism on the court
I liked the black numbers on the black jerseys as well.
I tried... I really did try to like them but they were just too dark.
Also, I was watching one of those games at a family get together, with dozens of neutral college bball fans, and well... they all HATED them. Not to mention I saw a game recap on Yahoo poking fun at them (not just the zubazz atrocities), with many comments also harshly criticizing them. It seems to me that very few non-UC fans liked them.
It's easy for us UC fans, we know the team and players quite well... but to the casual fan, being barely able to read the names and numbers is quite annoying (and a bit pointless, IMO).
They werent Just UC uniforms though. Louisville had some just like it in all white and syracuse in all orange. Im sure there were more adidas schools those are just the ones I remember

If I'm not mistaken, I think the money we're paid by Adidas is also significantly more than what we received from Nike.
I like these unis and I like Adidas a lot. Nike has their share of plain boring shirts. Adidas always seems to have something classic and classy. When we had the Jordan Nike line we had some very nice stuff for a few years but I haven't been disappointed with any of the Adidas gear.
Don't know if anyone has mentioned this or not, but it looks as if they went back to the old "tank top" style uni, going away from the "sleeveless" look. I noticed a lot of the guys last year would constantly pull back their sleeves on top of their shoulders like it was bothersome, especially Kilpatrick.
At the end of the day it's about what the current/potential athletes desire. I have been told uniform design and different apparel/swag are what they desire. Addidas has been a great partner to UC. They offer more comprehensive coverage than Nike allowed. Plus, as Sub has mentioned time and again, there were issues dealing with Nike.
As a fan I liked the Nike gear better; however, after watching the video those look like the best Adidas jerseys we have had. My biggest issue with Adidas is that fan gear quality is all over the map.

Back in the Nike days, there was essentially no fan gear of any quality. Aside from their polo style shirts, there was nothing except maybe some cotton t-shirts and crappy screened jerseys, especially on the football side.

Yep! You were lucky to find a shirt or two and usually they were not very cool and just standard fare. I bought a Nike jersey back in the day, but that was probably the only Bearcat apparel I bought since I never found anything nice in the way of T-Shirts, etc. Scratch that, I did get a polo and after 3 weeks, it had a hole at the seams and I swore to not buy another polo from Nike.
I say go with the better deal, but it definitely helps being a key school to the company. Everyone talked about the NCAA jerseys and there is no bad press. Some loved them, many hated them (Although the younger generation seemed to love them). But we were talked about a ton because of them. I'd rather be a big fish, even if the money was a tad less (Key word tad and I would think Adidas would pay more anyway).
I was, at first, skeptical of Addidas. However, they have produced a great variety of gear and the quality is good too. We purchased some of out items at the athletic dept garage sale a couple of years ago. Purchased some great dry fit workout gear.

Think about the team in the "Nike Years." It doesn't surprise me that there was nothing football oriented.
Saw some photos posted recently of the new shorts. Very large scratch marks on the legs in the same style as the current football pants. C-paw on the left lower leg.

I think have seen them too. I wish UC would dump the scratch marks on the basketball uniforms. Just a classic C-Paw or old school UC logo would have worked with the jersey.
