JMU to CUSA "It's a Done Deal" (and some Bible talk)
...it is over on the JMUbbs site. They will tell you all about it I'm sure.

Seems strange, unless we are about to go to 16 (doubtful). I think CUSA holds pat until all of this crap shakes out.

Sounds like one person making a guess because they have their official "should we go FBS" report coming out that day.

the only thing that might be even remotely a "guess" is the timing. whether it's next Friday, or shortly thereafter....we'll be seeing you boys soon. that is NOT a guess.

Ok what team is leaving? I don't see CUSA going to 15 just so JMU can join.

It's not just him. I have heard the move is done, and just requires the BoV vote.

Not sure what this means in terms of CUSA losing a team, or adding 2.

Not a big fan of this move but if true it would put another team in Virginia for UNT to play. I'd like that.

Just seems weird to add another eastern team.

despite what may be believed on the CUSA board and by many of its fans who simply don't know anything about JMU..... this isn't some out of the blue spur of the moment thing.

this has been worked on and "done" for quite a while now. JMU simply had to go through its process first.

I don't know whether that means CUSA is adding 1 or losing 1 (my guess is losing)....but I do know JMU is 99.8% likely to be joining CUSA very very soon.

It's a rumor until proven otherwise. Time will tell.

or Rice to MWC

or Southern Miss to AAC.

One of those 3 is likely to move IMO.

it's a rumor to ODU fans who can't stand the thought of JMU moving up considering all the smack you've been laying the past year.

not all ODU fans, but many (ahem - Razor - ahem).

No it's a rumor to everyone until it's done. App State fans were saying the same thing awhile back.

I talk smack, but personally, I would love to renew the rivalry with JMU. Maybe eventually y'all will win one.

as well you should. Rivalries are a HUGE part of college sports.

i've been saying on here for months that the JMU-ODU rivalry will instantly move to the best and most heated in CUSA....with all apologies to WKU-MTSU.

RE: JMU to CUSA presser next Friday "It's a Done Deal"
I hope we don't lose anyone because I like how the conference is shaping up (I think Rice and UTEP long-term could benefit from the Texas rivalries with UNT and UTSA). I don't think the AAC would add USM after just signing their TV deal unless they're losing someone.

Having said that though, "if" a new member is added, from what I've seen I think JMU would be a great fit. They already have great facilities in place, and they could be competing very quickly in CUSA. Will be very interesting to see what happens next Friday.

I could see UTEP moving to the MWC...would give them 12 in all sports and 13 (w/Hawaii) in football. UTEP's other sports would be fairly valuable IMO because their basketball is pretty consistent...and they have a big market and can rival with New Mexico.

If that's the case, then JMU moving in seems possible, but I'd question the jump straight to CUSA...wouldn't Louisiana be a better fit to go in the west division...and is certainly a good school in its own right.

kind of going along with that, what about BYU joining as well to make it 14/13? That would make a lot of sense I think.
