TROY/ ULM travel to Statesboro 2014
Looking forward to hosting both TROY and ULM in Statesboro in 2014. How many fans do you think will travel to Statesboro for the game? GS all-time attendance record is around 25k....I think that may be broken next year.

Troy travels pretty well...ULM probably not.

Troy will probably send their band and make sure that every fan in the stadium knows the Troy fight song by heart. They play it win, lose, score, scoreless.

They'll get along great with Southern Pride. They play the fight song for pretty much everything as well. You'll hear the fight song at least 4 times during pregame, the opening tag of the fight song for every first down, and of course when we score. I'd imagine that at the end of the game the two bands would combine for the post-game show and that would be a nice sight to see.

One of the coolest things I have ever seen a band do was at UT-Knoxville. Their pregame spectacle is second to none I have ever seen and one thing they do is play the opposing team's fight song.

From what I've heard(it may have changed since last year) out of the band directors mouth is we're doing a "Salute to the SoCon" at one of our home games this year. If I remember correctly, SP will play all the current members fight songs for their half time show and end with ours.

Not sure what kind of quality you're going to get with a Browning-less ULM team.

I really hope Troy brings about 3K fans minimum.

The Michigan band plays the opposing team's fight song during it's pregame as well.

Does anyone here know how many tickets the Sun Belt requires the home team to make available for visiting teams in conference play?

Not sure what kind of quality you're going to get with a Browning-less ULM team.

It's still gonna be better than Elon, W. Carolina, St. Francis, etc....

Exactly. If they brought 500 fans, it would be 450 more than we normally get. Seriously. Most teams just have a bus load of the players parents and that's it.

The issue is distance. Troy's a lot closer to Statesboro than ULM is. I guess it depends on how the team's doing as to visitor turnout.

Trivia fact: The ULM and Georgia Southern series is tied at 2-2. Each team has won in its home stadium but last time they played each other was in 1991.

Troy will bring a minimum of 3k plus. Atleast the pep band which is louder than most full bands. There's a lot of Troy alumni in Georgia.

Disappointed we won't get ULL til 2016.

I've heard so much about the UL-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns that I can't wait to see them in person. Hopefully Hud will still be there in a few years before he moves on to replace Saban.

They don't travel well. Not to Troy anyway... I'm sure that would be the same for statesboro

Who wants to spend a weekend in the middle of Alabama along the Eastern Front, boarded by massive pine forest? We travel well, but we are choosy.
