Smashed a non-scholarship FCS and DII. Got smashed by two FCS programs.
We definitely have some good players, but youth is a factor. Our young QB has been turning the ball over a lot and our o-line hasn't been doing him many favors.
The next two recruiting classes will be very important.
Don't take this the wrong way, but my uncle was a flanker for the blue hose in the eighties, and my kid wears his number to this day. I'm gonna have to root for PC. I wish you guys the best the rest of the season though.
Presby played Wake Forest really tough in Winston-Salem earlier this year. Yes, I know it's Wake Forest...and yes, I know Wake took control late... but they were outclassing Wake for much of the first half.

I noticed that. I don't think any reasonable Niner fan is seeing this as an automatic W, especially after the last two weeks.

I see it as another big loss honestly. We haven't been able to move the ball on offense the last two games. I don't see that suddenly changing unless Presby has no pass rush at all.

I really hope the past 2 games has shown the coaches that we don't have the speed to beat FCS teams to the outside every play. The bubble screens are driving me crazy.

I would actually be surprised to see another "big" loss, but a loss is certainly possible. I expect this to be our closest game so far (could go either way, probably a loss for us though----but a 7-10 point one if so).
Presbyterian missed a 23-yard FG that would have beaten Furman too, admittedly I'm not an expert on FCS teams but they seem to have a decent team this year. Guess we'll find out Saturday in Clinton!
The odds are this will not be an easy game. We are still learnig that football is a team sport. Our players are still trying to figure out who to trust in certain situations, the danger of over compensating, how to stay focused for an entire game, realizing that it's not high school ball and there are players on the other team as talented or more talented than they are.
Also, There's a learning curve for our coaches. We have a first time head coach and several of our coaches have not been on the sidelines for two years, until this season. For me it's not just a W or L, it's more about how are we playing against the different levels of talent we face and are we progressing as the season goes along.
Some of the things I am enjoying this season are seeing Charlotte football scores on the sports channels for the first time or picking up a sports magazine and seeing an article (even a small article)
mentioning Charlotte and realizing "We will never pass this way again."

Charlotte can't overlook anyone with our youth. Think the players should get that by now. Main adjustment I want to see is to keep from turning the ball over. Our defense creates plenty of them and gets the ball back, offense needs to do it's job to help out.

We moved the ball pretty well against JMU from time to time, we just would do some bogus bull**** and throw a pick or cough it up. I think our play calling has been questionable if anything. I also think the O-line did pretty well against JMU. There were comments around me about Johnson being sacked, and having a ball batted down as him not getting protection, but both plays were 3rd and longs (+10 yards) so the D knew it was going to be a pass. Not much you can do there.
Quote:Did you know: Records indicate the CCUNC Owls, representing a two-year night school
that eventually became UNC Charlotte, played at Presbyterian Oct. 15, 1947, with Presbyterian winning 33-19. Carroll York had a 55-yard TD reception for the Owls and recovered
a fumble in the endzone for a TD. RB Ray Evans also scored for the Owls.
66 years of revenge!
Win one for Carroll!
