True dat. I've already had a full day bashing Steeler fans and Atlanta citizens.

Beat the Early Birds![Image: early-bird-special-big.png]

Really and why do you want to bash a fellow JMU fan for being a Ravens fan? Can't someone be both? And I have been a fan of Madison football since 1976 when it was Madison College and we played in Division III.

Not sure if you're referring to me, but I have not bashed any Ravens fans. Nor have I questioned how long someone has been a fan of JMU- which in your case is commendable. 04-cheers

I'm a Braves fan, and am programmed to hate the Mets too...but lately, I just feel sorry for 'em.

New York has two teams in every sport because NYC has more than double the population of the next major U.S. city (Los Angeles). I'm not looking up the numbers but i believe NYC has more than 10x the population of DC (and more than 5 times the population of Baltimore and Washington combined). NY could probably even support 3 teams for baseball if they brought a 3rd team into Brooklyn.

I wouldn't really call the Mets irrelevant. They still have a strong, knowledgeable fan base.

To get back on topic, does anyone have a link for Delaware's streaming option? Do I need to make an account?

The Census Bureau says the New York Metropolitan Statistical Area (defined as one or more counties with a urban population of 50,000 more, and adjacent counties with a high degree of social and economic integration as measured by commuting ties), which includes counties in NJ, PA, and CT, was just under 20 million people last year. DC was 5.8 million, Baltimore 2.7 million.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Met...ical_Areas

You could put another team in New York and it could have a huge and successful fanbase and only marginally affect the Yankees' income. (Harrisonburg is #306 on this list, by the way.)

Thanks for looking it up! My 10x population guess was based on populations within city limits not metro areas.

Anyway, seriously does anyone know anything about watching our game online Saturday night through a UD feed?

It was posted earlier in this thread - because of the CAA's TV deal the UD website stream is blacked out from North Carolina to New York. If you live outside those areas you can access the stream free of charge through UD's athletic website - no registration required I believe.

What type of quality is UD's stream? HD?

Thanks, I will give it a try tomorrow night. I live in NY, but outside NYC limits. Time Warner in NYC carries the regional channel that is showing the game, but Cablevision on Long Island does not. Hopefully the blackout ends at the city line.

RE: TV Options for UD
For anyone interested, here is a link (below) to UD's site. I am not sure if you will be able to click on the player on the home page to access the game tomorrow, or have to go to the "Hens All-Access" page, which has a "Join" button and a "Login" button. I tried to join, but was told that there are no packages available. I don't know if that means the game is free and you don't need to sign in to access it or what. Guess we'll see tomorrow at game time.

I believe the female chickens are very beatable. Where I am most worried is our pass D. They can pick a soft pass D apart. I was much impressed with Gage Steel's smothering pass D undeneath last week. UD has played some real nobodies this season. Their only opponent of note is Navy, who destroyed them, 51-7. Opponents have been able to run on the female chickens, especially teams who have a credible running threat at QB (Navy used two QBs, who averaged about 7 yards per tote for a combined 160 yards). We will need Big Red's running ability in this game, I believe. Without it, we could lose. If we can preserve it for games down the road, dandy, but I think we are going to need it. I hope he is 100%. Link to UD site....

FYI another possible way to avoid the blackout is to use your work VPN if it goes to a state that is outside the blackout and your work doesn't care you are using the VPN

So far this feed reminds me of watching minor league hockey when I was in law school. I lived near New Haven, CT, which has a history of good support for minor league teams and bad ownership for them. New Haven got a team called the Beast of New Haven, named for the gargoyles on the historic buildings, and the local public television station broadcast the games. They had one camera, situated at the top of the arena stands, near what must have been the pressbox. It wasn't the best setup for watching hockey.
