ADM World HQ might leave Illinois
http://www.chicagobusiness.com/article/2...to-chicago

ADM is moving their Executive HQ out of Decatur. Chicago is first choice but I am assuming looking for tax credits. St. Louis and Minneapolis also under consideration.

They are employ 4400 people in Decatur. They have stated that they will still donate money to area but big blow to Decatur.

Minneapolis is going to put a full press to bring ADM to town. The Cities have a long food company history with lots of local industry talent ADM could poach. Probably won't happen though, I'd put Mpls 3rd.

I think international flights will have some determination. Plus Chicago and St. Louis are much closer to Decatur which will be the North American HQ

Interesting that you mentioned airport. One big plus of Minneapolis is how damn easy it is to get in and out of our airport, and it's central location. It's a major part of the city's company recruitment efforts.

If ADM built a campus on the south side of town travel would be zero concern. O'Hare and Midway are frankly nightmares.
