Pat White, another BE QB, wasn't too shabby either. After all, he was the first QB to start - and win - 4 bowl games. I do believe he got some Heisman notice as well...
if we are going all the way back to pat white does mike vick count as a BE recruit?
the point is that im just amazed how well the BE schools were at recruiting/evaluating talent. had the BE stayed together the conference would of been on a pretty big upswing and its a pretty big shame we couldnt see these guys (terry, geno, hunt) in the same conference at the same time.

So you're saying 6 years ago is too far in the past for you to remember?
And we were talking about the BE post ACC raid I...

Pat White counts. Michael Vick doesn't...
i just named 3 QBs from 3 different schools who came around at the same time. geno graduated last year, the other 2 are still in the league.
i didnt include pat white because he was what? 6 years removed.
had the BE been intact we would of seen some sort of succession like
pat white to geno smith to terry bridgewater to hunt (i hope). a BE dynasty of producing star dual threat QBs
so yeah you can include pat white in the BE succession, but i always felt that he was a different generation than the 3 QBs im mentioning

I've said the same thing, but in reality, you have to have a starting point, and without a team having a rank, you'll never know who goes where. You just have to start somewhere and guess.
The Harris does it this way right? In my reality the pollsters would probably still do preseason polls and would continue right up to the first published in October. The difference being that because the preseason and early season are not published they would be free to really move teams around without fear of getting dinged by the consumers of the rankings.

i think the polls system sucks, but the standard has always been if you win...you win. it doesnt matter how bad that win was. we have beaten 4 teams (one of them ranked) and all we have to show for it is being dropped BELOW our preseason ranking
im sorry but is this for real?
Squeak by Akron (1-2, FCS win) and then escape Conn (0-3,FCS loss).... Should they not have dropped..
I think it was in 1979 when Ohio State lost the number one ranking after a win…
this wouldn't be that unusual except they lost the top spot to a team that had a bye that week.
Even decades ago voters would determine that a team that
didn't play had a better week than one that played to victory.

Joe Flacco was also recruited by and signed by a Big East school. As was Matt Simms, Geno's backup. There were a few others who were great college QB's. though not necessarily good pros. These include Pat White, Brian Brohm, Tony Pike, and Tyler Palco, in addition to pre-split QB's an dother position players.

Oooooooooo, yeah I LIKE the way you think, dodger...
IMO the vast majority of Harris voters aren't willing to put the effort into doing the preseason and early season polls. They simply let the AP and coaches poll do their work for them, and use those as a starting point for their own poll, once they're willing to start working on it...
