Sounds like that crap that UT pulled in 2004 (I think). Supposed to come play us here in Wimprine & Avery's senior season (DW's jr), but needed to squeeze in a hime game with LaTech instead...Pu$$ies!

RE: Mizzou FB series getting pushed back a few years
Personally, I think that we should schedule a UTM / Austin Peay type of game for the 1st game of the year. We need that to get in sync and prepare for better comp. had we played that type of game on Labor Day weekend, we'd be 3-1 right now - maybe, 4-0.

Yep. Hopefully in a couple of years we will be comfortable opening against a SunBelt or C-USA opponent and not need to go down to a level, but we absolutely do not need to open with a marquee game just to satisfy the loudest gripers. Last year showed that.
The Missouri games were scheduled to be the season openers in '15 & '16. And I think UCLA is scheduled as the opener one year. They may change their minds if it looks like we won't be their "get in sync" game.

Screw that. Offer them a 3-1. I mean, I like and respect our rivalry as much as the next guy, but we need to start being a little selfish. It's not like we are trying to use leverage to gain a BB series.

I have a classmate in Columbia, we were talking about how we would host one another at these games...now at our age it seems way out there in time.

I'm not positive, but I think the AAC schools agreed to stop scheduling FCS teams, and to strengthen OOC games by playing as many P5 schools as possible. Not positive it was implemented, but I know for a fact it was discussed, as a method to help our champ get the
Access Bowl slot as often as possible.

1aa games dont count in rpi... lower div 1a schools etc would be a drag.

I'm not debating how RPIs are calculated. I'm simply passing on what the conference directive was. I think in that case, you could argue perception. I'm pretty sure the commish and the ADs weren't looking at the technicality you pointed out, no matter how correct it is.
Remember, this was a philosophy to help our champ get the access bowl slot, and to improve the PERCEIVED SOS. The committee supposedly is going to look at strength of schedule WITHOUT any calculations, based on their perceptions, so beating a low level P5 will likely carry more weight than beating some FCS school.

2014 - Austin Peay, @ UCLA, Middle Tenn, @ Mississippi
2015 - @ Kansas, @ Bowling Green, Mississippi
2016 - @ Mississippi, Kansas, Bowling Green
2017 - Mississippi, Tennessee, UCLA
So a H&H is needed for 2015/16 and a road OOC game for 2017.
I did a quick check of a few Big 12 schools that TIGER fans could make a reasonable drive to attend. TCU, Ok State, and Baylor all have slots open for 2015/16. So does Georgia Tech in ACC. MEMPHIS should keep playing that conference as well IMHO. I did not check the more distant schools like Texas Tech or WVU, nor did I check any SEC teams.
That road OOC game in 2017 could be a 2-1 deal with the road game played first, maybe do that with Southern Miss??
Is that correct?
What a home schedule for 2017!

It's not a done deal. It is something they have been discussing.

Would like to see someone like Iowa State, Indiana, Wake Forest, or even Duke, that's not a bad series and we need to even it up.
