ECU fans have seen Holtz's teams before. You guys will come around soon enough.

Bad finish but very good showing except couple of very bad mistakes. I am rooting for you in the west.

On the bright side, Tech is better with Higgins at QB and we can win some games. I didn't feel that way last week.

Tough one to take. We did play better this week and Higgins no longer had the deer in the headlights look, but man this sucked. Went from feeling confident, then frustrated, then relieved, to finish disgusted. Haven't felt this bad since we let Houston come from behind by 5 scores to beat us in Ruston two years ago.

He gave y'all 2 championships, left for a better job, and y'all haven't sniffed a championship since. STFU

I honestly never got what the big attraction was for skippy. Always thought he was where he was mostly because of his last name, and his daddy was pretty massively overrated, too.

He's a dynamic persona. He can motivate and he speaks very well. He's also been around the game all his life and he is a championship-winning coach. The only negative is that he makes his players fumble and forces his FG kickers to miss.

He needs to figure out how to win games when he has a better team - do that and I will be happy

I am not high on Skip Holtz. Team seems to be very undisciplined and we are a third of the way through the season. Looked better today, but that was also a function of the opponent also. We will be competitive, but feel like coaches need instill some discipline with this team.

What came first, the chicken or the egg? What came first, the good coach or the good team? It doesn't happen overnight, imo.

He's the fortunate result of a sperm cell being in just the right place at just the right time. If his name was anything else, he's driving a ups truck right now.

Holtz would have beat Kansas about 77-3 with last year's team.

no. and he also doesn't have anyone whacked out with some sort of hero worship complex.

dude, honestly, be objective. there is the possibility that he just isn't "the guy". it's the big, BIG, BIG risk in hiring a new coach. they can't all be winners.

WTF? Are you still talking about Skip Holtz? He's a proven winner. (89 wins.. should be 90, but we fumbled on the 5 twice and missed 2 FGs).

ECU fans have seen Holtz's teams before. You guys will come around soon enough.

He may have f'ed up before but this game 05-nono he has nothing to do with bad fumbles.

Skip's teams always lose that way. Look at ECU's two Liberty Bowl losses to Kentucky and Arkansas. Missed field goals. Fumbles. ECU outplayed both teams, but ended up loosing both games. It is going to get worse for LTU fans. When they start turning off the television at the mere sight of Holtz on the sidelines, then they will understand what ECU and USF fans are saying.

Skippy seems like a nice guy, but his coaching can drive a person nuts.

One of these guys is proven. See if you can figure it out.

Ellis Johnson: 0-12
Todd Monken: 0-3
Skip Holtz: 89-73
