maybe i'm old...but this whole trend of helmets, unis and courts is just stupid.

you can't even tell who you are watching half the time anymore.

I can't tell if I like that helmet or hate it...I guess it comes down to I don't care about VT, I care about JMU and JMU's BOV and the inability to communicate, negotiate, move forward, make decisions, take chances, give up or whatever it is we are going through right now.

I've wondered what the difference is between VT stone and JMU's bluestone is at times...there's seems to be a mix of some colors? anyhoo...ugly as eff...looks like "the thing" from FF

I remember when VT used to be more interested in winning football games than screwing around with different uniforms.

It looks like that tacky stuff they put all over Baltimore houses in the 50's called "Formstone".

I'm with you. I'm more interested in watching the players play the games. I'm over the whole uniform craze. I really like JMU's uniforms and the fact that they haven't dramatically changed them. We actually wear our colors and our helmets. I know there have been a ton of tweaks but I feel like we've kept an identity in general. If this stuff gets recruits, why is VA Tech no longer in the top 10 like they used to be? Why is Maryland's program in the state it's in? Where are these great recruits on Saturday afternoons?

maryland looks to be really good this year.

Uniforms dont win games, but man, oregon sure knows how to play football.

Man that helmet design is awful. Looks like something Prinstone might wear in the Flintstones.

Some schools do the alternate unis right, and some do it incredibly wrong. When VT did the white helmet.. not bad (we know those very well haha). When they went with the white helmet with the turkey tracks on one side and that stupid bird on the other... incredibly terrible. This is just another fail in my opinion.

When I heard Tech was doing these Hokie Stone helmets, the first thing I thought of was Stanis's daughter in Game of Thrones. I'm a geek, I know...

I had a geology professor explain to me one time that the limestone, Bluestone, at JMU is different than the limestone at Tech. The stuff from the Valley is a different shade and tends to be darker. Just has to do with the local geology.

This. You can clearly tell a difference between the stone we use and the stones at Tech. I prefer our bluestone way over the stone Tech uses. The tech stone is a bit darker and has a much colder look to it.
