RE: EMU VS Ball State (Homecoming) Game Day Comments
Weather outlook for today is near perfect football weather.
Cool temps, near 70 degrees. Very slim chance of rain.
Zero chance of snow.

RE: EMU VS Ball State (Homecoming) Game Day Comments
Here is BSU vs. EMU three games to date by the numbers:
(note: EMU has played Howard, PSU and Rutgers.
BSU has played IL. State, Army and N. Texas)
My first reaction is 'apples and oranges'. Those schedules are very, very difficult and BSU hasn't been really tested.
All it proves is that EMU needs the road game money more.
How would THEY do vs. PSU and Rutgers????
http://overthepylon.net/2013/09/17/ball-...numbers-2/
Or if we had played IL. State, Army and N. Texas would we be #1 in the country with sacks instead of a 'paltry' #5?
Truth be told BSU has had essentially a 'FCS' schedule - their strength of schedule by Sagarins is 148. EMU 37.
And yes, truth be told, MAC teams are getting slaughtered with brutal schedules and that includes UB, Toledo, UMass, WMU and EMU.

The stat that stands out to me is BSU gave up 231 yards rushing to UNT last week. If our O-line can't give Hill and Jackson some room to work with today, I don't know when it'll happen this year. Both guys need to have big games for us to win today. Gotta keep that ball out of Wenning's hands.
Ultimately, I think Ball State's offense will end up being too much for our defense. We will score some points today, but not enough to win a shoot-out.
BSU: 42
EMU: 28

Shoot-out is also what I expect.
Our best hope is that the blitzes continue to be effective and we 'bend but don't break'.
It only takes one effective 3rd down blitz to end a drive.

BTW, the big news is that RB Edwards did not play vs. N. Texas but will vs. EMU. That is significant.
I think he might not have made the trip to N. Texas because of a concussion.

Pretty sure he ran for 200 yards against us last year. This isn't good news.

The EMU D-line is better than last year. Time to prove it.

RE: EMU VS Ball State (Homecoming) Game Day Comments
I thinking the real EMU team will show up with the offense and defense playing for pride, the MAC lead at 1-0, the fans, and English..
This game is what everyone has been waiting for since the spring.. I thinking upset today, not meaning this game will make me sick..
The defense will have to be like the Bears defense and carry the team offense until they get it together.. I heard from the inside that the team is wired and ready to play..
This game may be the biggest game that EMU has had in a while because it will have a impact on the team believing in the program direction, on coach English conversation, recruiting, the football program, fan coming out, moral...

Great news! He will be needed. Smith and Snead are a handful at WR for Ball State.

English loves him. Thinks he is easily our best DB.
