It's most fun reading that list from the bottom up.

RE: Conference Rankings - SB Nation
While I would love to see the MAC up that high in the conference rankings there is no way. The MAC is stronger than the Sun Belt and CUSA and perhaps a wash at best with the MWC although I would give the nod to the MWC.

I think everyone agrees that CUSA is easily the weakest conferece in the country. Well except for the fans of those schools.

UConn, USF, and Memphis have been disappointing for the AAC so far.

Temple I think has been more disappointing. I don't think too many expected much from Memphis in football but Temple was not terrible recently so I think they are worse off for you (relatively speaking of course). I think Tulane can be put there as well or did I miss them beating anybody worth mentioning (though I guess nobody expected much from them either)?

I watched the Tulane @ La Tech (Tech went 9-3 last season) game and Tulane won...thing that I like about Tulane is they will have a brand new 30,000 seat on-campus stadium open when they join the AAC.

I would love to see the MAC in that position but in reality, I guess the writer is saying as a snapshot of this moment in time of the season. Even that is still a stretch but I appreciate it. It's tough to believe that as bad as the Big Ten is that the MAC is rated lower than them. If we lined up our top team with their top team and worked down to bottom vs. bottom, we'd have a tough time getting more than a win or two at best I believe. Still nice to read!

They should've never left Tulane Stadium. Granted, it made perfect sense at the time to leave and tear down the place with the Saints and the Sugar Bowl moving to the sparkling new Superdome, but nearly four decades later the Tulane program is barely a blip on the Louisiana sports radar. They draw turnstile crowds rivaling EMU, with the visitors often outnumbering them. An on-campus facility is a must of a small private school in an urban area, good for them to finally build a new one.

Even more, of the headlines of this moment in the season. On W-L, the MAC had a par weekend (losing to P5, beating FCS, splitting Go5), but most of those were not headline games, and Akron almost upsetting the Wolverines, and in position to win on the final snap in an enthralling game, was a positive headline in the same weekend that CUSA and the American had headline losses to FCS schools

Exactly, had NIU lost to Idaho, Toledo to EWU, etc. then it would be more comparable. Losses like UMass to Maine aren't something we brag about, but it's not as bad as UConn losing to Towson, USF to McNeese State, etc.

Most of Tulane's students are from outside Louisiana and won't drive to the Super Dome to watch them play...but having an on-campus stadium will get the students involved...Tulane would play at neighboring Gormley stadium and LOTS of students would show up...many fans said if they had decided not to build Yulman stadium...they should move to Gormley.
