I wouldn't have thought it would be over 200k so I'm a bit surprised. What was our payout from Idaho? If we are paying these guys 250k, I would think Idaho owes us in the neighborhood of 400k just for the inconvenience alone.

They owe us at least that much, but I heard we had to pay a field house fee for each of our players to play in their rec center, it was $2.00 per player per hour.

The deal with Idaho was 1 for 1. So I doubt that they paid us anything. When they return the visit, we will pay them nothing.

I don't even want the return game at this point. Just forget the whole thing as it's not worth the hassle.

Why? Home and homes with other mid majors are the games NIU should be trying to schedule. Now obviously, Idaho is a bad example of it, but assuming they're still FBS that's absolutely a game NIU should keep.

Except for the fact Idaho has told us it'll be at least 2018 before they come to DeKalb. They could very well be FCS by that time.

RE: EIU Payday
Huskies need to hire whoever got New Mexico State's scheduling done. How does an Indy get 7 home games including Minny, UTEP, Rice, San Diego State, Boston College in 13. Plus road games at UCLA & Texas; great for recruiting and huge wads of $
6 home games in 12 including NM & BYU, 6 home games in 11 including UTEP & Ohio, IN 10 6 home games including SD ST & NM. In 14 they have a NM home game and a road game at LSU that is likely to pay a huge wad of $.
In 15 they open at FLorida and also have BC & Ole Miss on the schedule which should net them more huge wads of $.
This is Idaho's first year they've not had 6 home games dating back to 2008, home games include Temple & Fresno plus NIU. CLoseby road game at WASH ST plus Florida ST & Ole Miss for recruiting and $. In 14 they open at Florida and also travel to Ohio & Fresno(recruiting) and host the WMU Broncos, so NIU is far from the only MAC opponent on their schedule.

There is always a deal to be had, look at Toledo, I just refuse to believe that program is light years ahead of the Huskies. It is just a matter of picking up the phone and dialing numbers and I think with Frazier that might happen now.......hopefully.

When you or anyone else finds out what Toledo pays people, their cost to travel there (net profit) as well as NIU's home opponents please let me know.

Anyone know what our future payouts are scheduled to be from Arkansas, Wake Forest, Ohio State, Nebraska, etc?

RE: EIU Payday
NIU will receive a $900k payout for the Ohio State game.
http://www.daily-chronicle.com/2010/08/2...e/a1052oe/
Arkansas payout hasn't been announced but they're paying UL-L $950k this year.
The Wake Forest game is part of a 2-for-1 series dating back to 2002 so NIU may not be getting a payout at all.
Nebraska had better be paying well given the ridiculous 4-for-nothing contract NIU signed.

Because New Mexico is a guaranteed win for these teams...
The Top 25 can't afford to book teams that might beat them at home after they pay them $500to come..
The downside of going to the Orange Bowl, is that now we are seen as a "schedule wrecker" or "bowl buster"...We are no longer a guaranteed win..
Teams like Wake Forest will play us, because they suck at football and only care about basketball...
Wouldn't be surprised if Arkansas tries to ask of next years game or tries to buy us out of that schedule(though Lynch will be gone, so we could be significantly worse).
I think we need to try to schedule games with...Duke, Cinci, Louisville, Uconn, Memphis, Houston, SMU, Virginia, Georgia Tech, anyone in the MWC,

Stadiums matter... So does losing...Toledo starts 0-2 every year...So their end of the year rank is never high..
So it depends what is more important..playing big teams and losing or getting to better bowls, going undefeated, etc..
