Best Bets To Go Undefeated (ESPN): Bama and the Huskies
Anybody an ESPN Insider? Huskies are #2, behind Tide.

2. Northern Illinois Huskies

No. 44 overall FEI rating
29.1 percent likelihood to win out

The Huskies haven't been particularly dominant early this season, winning games against Iowa and Idaho by a combined 13 points. But they won't have to be dominant to win out against a schedule ranked 116th according to FEI. The highest-ranked Northern Illinois opponent remaining on the schedule is No. 66 Toledo. There are six opponents in the bottom 40 of our rankings and an FCS foe on the slate. Northern Illinois ranks 11th nationally in turnover margin (plus-1.5 per game), a factor in both of their victories to date.

realistically before last year, i thought 2003 was as high as it gets. it is amazing to see how far we have come having experienced a BCS bowl, with a legitimate thought that another one is possible if all the cards are played right. wow!

I thought for sure these threads would go away until after the Purdue game..... That said I love any national media attention that list NIU with Bama...

OK, this is off topic, but I did a little research into what teams have an overall winning record vs. Alabama. I only included teams that still exist today. This goes back to 1869...

Besides NIU, there are only 13 teams that have a winning record vs. Bama. They are:

Boston College, UCF, Minnesota, Texas, Oklahoma State, TCU, Notre Dame, Rice, Oklahoma, UCLA, Utah, Villanova, and Wisconsin.

What surprised me the most: Did you know that Rice is 3-0 vs. Bama?! All three of those meetings were between 1953-1956.
