this is my wife's theory. she really believes that they'll make an announcement on the jumbotron while we host charlotte. I told her not to hold her breath.
i will say, if it does end up going down like that, every poster on here has terrible sources and stop listening to them. I also nominate alger for the head of the cia. It would be the best kept secret in US history.

MAC-tastic announcement maybe?

RE: Charlotte @ JMU predictions
Revising my prediction since it appears it will be raining quite a bit. Charlotte so far this year seems to be a passing team and has had trouble stopping the run. Bad combo for a rain game.

38-10 JMU

All JMU regular QB's (including WR's & RB's pretending to be QB's) go down with turf toe. Some random kid from the stands dresses out at halftime and throws 5 TD passes for the Dukes in the 2nd half to bring the good guys back. Dukes go on to win the NC.

Sounds like a crappy movie staring Gary Busey as Mickey Matthews.

Some on this board think that Gary Busey wouldn't be crazy enough to play Mickey.

RE: Charlotte @ JMU predictions
This is so bizzare...Their fans over on their boards are predicting this to be a much more lopsided affair in favor of the Dukes than we are. In fact, I saw more predictions for a Charlotte win in this thread than on theirs.

I don't even know what to think anymore. Statistically the Dukes have crushed their first three foes, but the scores have been dangerously close because of penalties and turnovers. If it's a rainy night, I think the Dukes get an ugly 28-20 win.

We went from blowing out two teams, to getting blown out by an average FCS scholarship squad. You guys are ranked and we have 16 freshmen or redshirt freshmen starting.

We're just keeping our expectations realistic.

I think we just don't know what to think about our team. I've been thinking all week that with a week to heal for Birdsong, and one or both of Hunter and Smith back, JMU ought to be able to put some of the oomph back in the passing offense that was missing against St. Francis and run away with the game relatively early. But with the potential for rain at kickoff, I think Mickey reins in the horses and puts this on Scott's back. JMU still gives up some big plays and makes some dumb penalties, but the end result is 34-16.

RE: Charlotte @ JMU predictions
I expect JMU to play better, only because I don't know that we can play much worse. Too many penalties and turnovers.

2 turnovers and 5 penalties would be an improvement over last week. We should be able to muster that. But I expect Charlotte will be easily the most talented FCS team we've played yet. I expect a competitive game throughout.

Dean Marlowe picks off the UNCC QB on their last drive of the game to seal the win.

Hopefully we keep it close, JMU's depth will prevail late in the game.

Chances are <1%. AD's are all the same... the announcement will be made behind closed doors with lots of cameras.

That being said, if that happens... I'll be cheering just as loud as you guys.

Hey 49erlew. Is your username a tribute to Lew Massey from the Final Four team?

I wish I had your wife's confidence in an announcement tomorrow. Would be awesome though.

No, it's a tribute to my own name. I'm self-centered like that.

Although, Lew Massey is alright in my book. Also gets bonus points for spelling his name correctly.

RE: Charlotte @ JMU predictions
If it's raining, JMU runs the ball. Maybe a pass here or there, but DQ, Simmons, and whoever else is at the RB position will have tons of carries. Because of the rain, I predict a low scoring game. 17-7, as long as JMU controls the clock, we shouldn't have anything to worry about. Play like we did last week, until we did start running the ball, watch out.

EDIT: Although, I remember it raining during the Richmond game and JMU won by 30+ points. So hoping for a big win here.
