"Republicans would take the state backwards"
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story...79312&ft=1

That is what Governor Quinn said after Daley withdrew from the race. Can our state go backwards any further. Next step is bankruptcy. Quinn has ZERO desire to improve our states financial health. Interesting that Daley feels it is too big a clean up. UMMMM, Democrats control both houses and Governor. This has been the case for many, many years. If the democrats wanted to really fix the problems of the state, they could but it is not in their own personal interests(see Michael Madigan)

this state is f'd up. If i were daley i too would back out. lets get term limits in place first, then it might be easier for the governor to fix things.

The City of Chicago just had another bond rating drop. Rahm's response was that he is not concerned. The Governor, Senate and House will figure out the answer to our pension problem. Anyone believe that?

I would hope that the Republicans would want to go "backwards" to the days when Illinois had lower taxes, increasing productivity, and an increasing population of people and business.

But then again, we are talking about Illinois Republicans, who only want to go backwards to the 1st hole.
