Starting a thread similar to the MLB thread which has been great all year long. Place for folks to put your predictions preseason, and then talk about them all year long!!!

Going to be a lot different this year with the new alignment. Have any of you looked at standings yet(I know preseason). It's just so refreshing to going back to seeing 4 divisions instead of the 6.

Penguins will do well in the regular season and choke in the playoffs.

I have seen it snow in LA before. But it doesn't happen very often...

Yes, I remember going to Atlanta Flames games as a youngster and sitting to the right of the net watching the players come flying down the ice and checking into the boards and glass right in front of me.

A shame the ownership group screwed it up. Doubt Atlanta will see and NHL team again for a long, long time. 0-2 is not a good record for loing teams to other cities.

By the way, took a look at the new NHL standings/alignments and it is very strange to see the Red Wings in the East.

Will be very interesting to see how the new alignment makes kings and pounks of the teams this year.

and...Metropolitan Division....Columbus??? Weird name for a division.

If I were Gary Bettman, I would have called John Swofford at the ACC and ask for permission to use the Coastal Division name.

watching a bit of preseason hockey. this rule about the helmets and fights- crazy.....

Canes are 1-3 in preseason.... MY PREDICTION is a notch above bold at this point.
