RE: EIU Predictions
Eastern has a balanced attack.
Big physical guy to run the ball and a little guy to keep you off balanced.
Big senior QB. Not going to run but stand in the pocket and sling the ball.
It should be a good ball game no doubt and another good test.
How about that kid with no heart beat wins another one in the end.....
(yes that would be Mr Sims)
All I know is, if this guy has a kick to win the game, I will be in the parking
lot beating the traffic this time and beating everyone else out of the stadium who thinks he will miss.....
NIU-38
EIU-35
By the way, thanks for the game winning kick in Iowa Mr. Sims.
The heat was gettin to me.....

RE: EIU Predictions
For a couple of reasons, I am not too worried about this game:

1 - wake up call from the Idaho expereince. They now know they can be beat by anyone if they are not playing their best.
2 - first home game of the year - and fresh off the Orange Bowl. I think the emotions will be high.

Prediction: Huskies - a lot, EIU - not near as much

How can you sit here and talk about how we deserve more votes and are a top 25 team, yet honestly think we will lose AT HOME ot a FCS team. Yes, I can look at them as an FCS team. They don't have as many scholarships, they aren't built to play in the FBS week in and week out, they aren't as skilled as the Huskies, etc.

You think giving up 445 yards/game on defense is a good enough defense? They've played two FCS teams and haven't faced an offense even close to the Huskies. Outside of their QB and two WRs, they have nothing to compete with the dogs. I expect pressure on the QB and the corners to get physical with the WRs. He goes to the Lora guy A LOT. D-line and LBs will have their ears pinned and get after the QB making it tough. Their D is going to give up 600 yards.

Im no longer talking about NIU being a top 25 team lol. And I think if we play at the same level as we did against Iowa, NIU loses. This is the best team on our schedule to date, or at least the potential to be. When you get a game with teams as close as this, the "want-to" might also come into play. EIU is going to approach this game as their Super Bowl, that can make a difference and mainly why I picked EIU

RE: EIU Predictions
One other thing, if you want to look at best case for EIU, their team is on par with the SIU team that came in here and beat NIU (they aren't on par, that SIU team was better). It took a miracle for SIU to beat a 2-10 NIU team. I just don't get it.

And this is our first home game. The players are going to be jacked, especially if it is going to be a great turnout with fans. I see EIU keeping it close the first quarter and then we start getting in a groove and pulling away by a few tds.

7, please, stop. EIU dominated and made SDSU look like the FCS program. How can you turn your head on that, and the crazy numbers they have put up. I am not saying NIU is a bad team! If they are 4-0 I will be right back beating the top 25 drum, but my prediction is based more on a positive statement for EIU than a negative NIU one.

Shouldn't we be scheduling games against lousy FCS teams rather than ones that are contenders year in and out? I don't like the way this is shaping up at all.

You saying an FCS team is going to come in a break the longest home winning streak in the country is a huge negative statement about NIU. San Diego State is winless, 121st in the country in points for, and 118th in points against.

Against, Eastern Washington won at Oregon State (who just won at Utah) and Toledo beat them by 2 scores with a true freshman TD. EIU isn't some historically good FCS program. They went 7-5 last year. They're a solid FCS team with a nice little offense. NIU should handle them with ease.

EIU isn't a contender year in and year out. They went 2-9 two year ago.

The fact that you think EIU is better than NIU is laughable man.

Also, did you watch the EIU/SDSU game or just look at the box score. Those can tell two different stories. SDSU is BAD, that's why the looked like a FCS team, the guy who played QB in that game has under 40% completion percentage and 5 picks to 0 tds.

When you turn the ball over 5 times, you lose, that's what SDSU did. I cannot over emphasize the fact NIU is FAR SUPERIOR to anyone this EIU team has played this year or last year. EIU may have a more potent offense than Iowa, but they aren't better. Plain and simple, I'm not sure people on this board understand the power of venue, more scholarships, better athletes and more depth.

I confess I just saw the boxscore, but when you get 5 picks and say it is not a good team, isn't that like me saying "I would have had great grades in high school if it weren't for all those C's and D's".

If NIU wins and doesn't win by more than 3 TDs I just don't want to see people mad because they didn't pound EIU. This is not like going against Idaho or even a CMU type team.
