Louisville Band spells out A - C - C during UK Halftime
Was not at the game yesterday but it is being reported by those in attendance that the UofL Band lined up in The A-C-C formation on UK's field. The Wildcat crowd didn't like it as the Cardinal Band played a medley of Sugar Bowl songs, UK fans booed. Keep in mind that UK hasn't beaten Florida since the early 80's.

The UofL band facebook page has everything they do on it... no mention of that at all... not in official post or comment.

As someone who was originally for replacing Maryland with UConn (although I was convinced otherwise and swtiched my vote to Louisville prior to the Cards' invitation), I sure am glad now that the Swofford didn't listen to my first inclination. Louisville was a great add, and I might, might, even take the position that I would have been for the trade, straight-up, on a purely voluntary basis.

I 100% think if it was a trade, straight up, it is an improvement for the ACC.

Except for the consideration of losing an original member, which I do place substantial value on. Although, in hindsight, it does not appear to have been anything close to a damaging blow.
Still makes me wonder what would have happened if the XII had gone with Louisville over WVa, and then the ACC stuck to its position that WestVa was a dip too low academically and went with UConn. Coulda been trouble.

Considering that the ACC has plenty of markets (more than any other league). We really needed to trade one of our lowest performing, poorest schools, for one of the highest performing, richest that doesn't quite have so much market penetration. It's a trade we should have made given the option even though we had it forced on us.

I'm sure that you would agree the AAC is getting a lot more out of us in football and basketball this year than what we are getting from them right? Even the tv contract changed for the worse this year with the AAC.
I don't think the AAC will care to much what we do, as long as we deliver them BCS money and NCAA bball tourney credits.

You know they hated us for doing it. Right now most of those , are just hoping and praying that UCF and Cincinnati can both beat Louisville. We are the red-headed bastard Schmuck stepchild of the American Conference. They have more hate for us than even CUSA had in our last year there.

Louisville doesn't owe The AAC jack. Thanks to our wins last year in the basketball tournament, anticipated wins in this year's tournament and a probable bowl appearance, UofL will earn more money for The AAC next season after it leaves, than many of the programs staying in The AAC. As Aresco said in a recent interview, "Louisville is wind at our backs." I doubt if he minds it being an ACC wind as long as it's profitable for his conference.

That's actually pretty cool. I certainly don't see why anyone would have a problem with it. I think if they did it on the road in a conference game it would be bad taste, but it wasn't.
Why shouldn't UofL's band be excited about the switch?
For the sake of accuracy, UofL will definitely help the AAC's bottom line in basketball, but the football BCS money is guaranteed to the conference to distribute equally either way. Doesn't really matter who the representative is. Still, I'm sure the AAC isn't upset about anything UofL does. It certainly can't hurt.

LOL finally got to see the video on the band's facebook page... nothing like taking a slap at your rival... awesome!
As for claims that the AAC teams/fans hate Louisville, I haven't really seen that... the Big East/AAC opened a lot of doors for Louisville, the AAC football contract is still the old Big East contract this year and the basketball contract will put EVERYTHING Louisville does live nationally... as every conference game will have coverage - so both Louisville and the Conference will benefit from a strong Cardinal program this year. Plus, the better the Cards do, the more it will help the ACC next year giving them more buzz next year!
(It'll be interesting how the Cards program will handle less exposure as they fit into the ACC contract where there are more marquee teams vying for the conference's national games.)

Not exactly, as I said the current year deal has already been altered/sold portion to CBS Sports Network, and some of our games have been moved over to there, something that wouldn't have happened in last year BE or this year ACC.

As for the BCS payout portion, I'm still looking at if a team is the winner and sells more tickets to the game then that would make more for the conference, and/or save the conference from purchasing those remaining tickets.

The games on CBS Sports Network are games that would have previously just been syndicated thru ESPN Plus. Nationally more games are available than at any previous times. Now locally, that is another story, as the syndicated games were available to everyone in the local areas whereas CBS Sports Network is available to about half the people locally.

Sounds about right, Wilkie. Other ACC school fans, get ready... Louisville embraces the villain role better than anyone! That's why we at UK love when we beat them and hate when we lose to them.
