That game was a victory only on the scoreboard.

What I mean if they could call a game a 'tie' that game would have been it.

As they say, tough game for either school to lose.

Too bad Stony Brook doesn't have a 15 - 20K stadium, like many FCS schools. It would be nice to have a home and home series.

I heard the attendance yesterday was 24K, 3rd largest in UB history. That tell me something...

I believe both schools should stoke the rivalry. 03-idea

It means that even though UB scored more points, they lost the battle with an FCS instate rival.

If AD Danny White is trying to develop the University of New York mentality, then we need to dominate the next likely contender.

Had Stonybrook actually won, the New York Bulls initiative would have been dead in the water.

Akron and Stony Brook had 'moral victories'.

Q1: Who won the game? A1: UB

Q2: Which team was the better team? A2: Not sure, not sure I can tell. Any game going into 5 OTs is hardly decisive.

That under traditional rules it was a tied game. Winning by 3 in quintuple overtime is similar to winning via a coin toss.

But it was played under the new rules, and a win is a win.

A "moral victory" is what EMU got at Rutgers. I would not consider Stoney Brook or Akron in that category, too close and too much of a heartbreaker that instead of feeling good about being so close you're pissed off that you snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

I don't think people are giving Stony Brook enough credit. These FCS schools are getting better because they all have BCS level talent on these teams. Because Stony Brook is in the FCS, guys can transfer to these schools and not have to sit out a year. Stony Brook had a starting RB from Iowa, kicker from Maryland and Wide receiver from Florida State.

I believe this Stony Brook team is better than the UConn team we will see in two weeks.

Stony Brook is good and I said that about 4 or 5 months ago.

They soundly beat Army and led Syracuse at the half last season.

I suspected this would be a 'rivalry game' and UB announced their 3rd largest crowd attended the game.

It was all out there to be seen.
