Can we please put an end to the uniform insanity. Last time I checked we were supposed to be wearing Midnight Blue. The lack of respect to the tradition of the program by this team lately is disappointing. Don't even recognize them anymore

I agree. All these different combination uniforms/jerseys/helmets is getting ridiculous. Let's go back to the days of 2 different jersey combos (midnight blue for home, white for away), with just 1 helmet. Any kind of brand identity that UT has goes out the window when we change jerseys/helmets every other game. Instead of people seeing a UT game on TV or a highlight on E$PN and seeing a traditional jersey that UT has had for years and recognizing them, now they'll see a game on tv/highlight and think "Who the hell is that in black jerseys?"

ok ok let me break it down SLOWLY. just like with oregon and boise state, a big company wants to make your jerseys...which means you pay nothing. so let them make all the different colors they want........... it means meximum exposure and no cost because believe it or not, under armour is now a sponsor. you know what that means? $$$$$

you have to market your university........and toledo is trying to hit the big time finally. campus upgrades, big time videos for the football team. etc etc.

Looks like a loss isn't the only thing the team brought back from Missouri----I realize that midnight blue isn't quite black, but I liked the uniforms with the gold helmets.

yea they used a different color pallet for some reason...now the white is like partially grey. its weird.

Let me break it down SLOWLY to you. Our team looks like a bunch of idiots in these jerseys that UA is providing. Our colors are Black and Gold. Our colors are gray and gold. They are MIDNIGHT BLUE & GOLD. Next thing you know, they'll want us to wear orange and brown colors on the day after Thanksgiving.

And lastly, bring back these helmets:

I'm leaning the other way for once in my curmudgeonly life. If the players and recruits like them then let's wear them. We'll never look again like we did in the Tait years so let's just win and let the players worry about wearing the threads.

they have to move forward. no wins, no progress on the field equals a money loser with no sponsors.


they want the big time and they might get it sooner than later since savage is renovated, larimer is next and im sure the glass bowl is after that or at the same time if they get someone to buy the naming rights


the uniforms tonight looked GREAT. it was a real eye catcher and if i didnt know who the team was, i'd be liek 'ok let me get online and look up these guys!'

I don't like the yellow helmets at all. Seems to me that there should be a way to get "cool" uniforms using the colors of midnight blue & gold...

I'm more of a traditionalist, too, but if the kids actually like switching up the uni combos I'm OK with it. I'm not crazy about the yellow hat, but I liked the black uni's once I got used to it.

I don't mind if they stay in 1993. I don't mind if they go back to leather helmets and knit shirts. Just win! I don't come to see a fashion show.

To whom exactly is UA marketing? Is there a street market for black and yellow UT jerseys? It's their business and they seem to do it well. I just don't understand it.

We don't have the tradition of an Alabama, PSU, tOSU, etc...therefore, you are going to see all kinds of uni's in order to catch the attention of recruits and other casual fans.

I didn't mind the black uniforms...at least they had blue and gold trim. I don't like the gold helmets as is...why did they keep the small rocket logo...should have gone to the same one they are using on the blue helmets.

If most of the young kids playing and being recruited like the modern threads, I'm fine with them as long as it isn't a distraction during the season. I really don't mind seeing them switch things up. I really like the matte helmets over the past couple years. I also wouldn't mind seeing an old school uni and helmet now and then, but the helmets get expensive I'm sure. For branding sake, I would prefer they stay with MB and Gold as the main colors. I kinda like the gray unis, but not so much the black since it takes over the midnight blue. They look fine, but they really don't make a lot of sense for marketing the brand.

First off, I loved the black jerseys and my friend said they were the best jerseys he's seen in awhile. Secondly, I want to come out one away game in all white with white helmets

Even though I don't like the uniforms, I get why they keep changing and the trend of teams doing so in college football. I could pick apart the uniforms all day, but in the end it's not a huge issue for me. There are 1.5 things I absolutely detest about them though.

First, the 0.5. The Rocket logo on the helmet is awesome. The matte blue helmet color is awesome. Having the Rocket on one side and the number on the other side looks stupid.

The biggest thing that I hate is that stupid shade of gray used in the uniforms. It just looks bad and does not go well with the midnight blue and gold. I think that shade of gray goes much better with red or green and it just doesn't work with UT's primary colors.
