I'd probably view it that way too, when it comes to voting for Top 25.

so Michigan is out of the top 25 then..

Dumb logic. NIU and Michigan will both get more votes this week then they did last week.

Just because they get more votes doesn't mean they should. Also, Michigan beat TSISB the week before, which is a better win than beating Iowa.

NIU absolutely gets more votes with any 10 point win. Who cares if they "should."

I don't think they catch idle Fresno though, which is a shame.

Not for teams like us that don't get the respect we deserve. Style points matter.

They were 1 yard from losing to a worse team than Idaho at HOME. The ranking takes into account all games not just what you did x weeks ago.

The few good points...
Our game was NOT on TV of any kind
We had 11 sacks which is making it around twitter now.
The pollsters are at most going to look at the score by quarter, which doesn't look as bad as watching the actual game.

NIU website is saying 9 sacks.

Suspend them both. This is why there are so many "upsets" in college football....because nobody has any idea if a team is any good for at least two months. The traditionally good teams play cupcake OOC games, and the "cupcakes" don't get many home games 'til conference season.

And the only way NIU is in BCS range at the end of the year is with zero or perhaps one loss. It doesn't matter how pretty they are, if the BCS games have ANY chance of choosing an AQ team, they will, and with NIU's schedule, it's really hard to argue, honestly. NIU isn't going to get much credit for a win over EMU whether it's by 4 or 40.

Yes and I think today really highlights, that most (not all of us) got a little carried away with where NIU fits in in terms of the national perspective. A humbling experience for sure for many fans, perhaps something we needed. As frustrating as the game was, it is almost like a sense of relief in not worrying about the polls and BCS, one game at a time as the old saying goes. We have a lot to work on and hopefully can be clicking at a higher level going into conference play.

I know and appreciate high expectations, but going undefeated in any sport on any level is crazy difficult. Bad matchups, injuries, bad luck, some dude you've never heard of (nor will hear of again) having the day of his life, a bad call, things happen....it's why sports is awesome and drives you crazy. ANYTHING can happen.

I actually think since he didnt knee the ball should of been live and a fumble

If he would of kneed the ball he would of been in a position to spike with 2 seconds left and win

Do people really think beating Idaho by 10 instead of 28 has an effect on anything? Nobody who votes watched that game. They'll see a 10 point win and move on.

Not as much as most think. But it's impossible to quantify the alternative.

It's a W and down the road that's all that will matter as far as polls are concerned.
