RE: 2nd Annual Oktoberfest at Huskie Stadium - Saturday, Sept 21st - Home Opener
Just in case people were wondering exactly where the Oktoberfest tent is. It is attached to the HASF tent right near the hedges on the West Side and it runs west kind of along the trees that make up the baseball outfield.

It's not on the far back corner of the West lot this year.

Hope to see everyone out tomorrow! We open at 1pm til Midnight. You can come out for a quick break at halftime we will be open. This is the location that the Fatty's NIU pre game concert series will also be for the rest of the season. Same place before every game. Oktoberfest is the only time we will be open after the game starts til midnight.

If anyone is in DeKalb early Saturday, and are looking for a quick bite, go to Lincoln Inn Eatery and Bakery ( 240 E. Lincoln Hwy and in town). NIU Cheerleaders will be there and mention you want to support the Cheerleaders! The cheer squad will receive a percentage of the sales!

If the cheerleaders would be so kind as to simply cross the street and make an appearance at the Grotto, I'd be most appreciative. I will be there from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - if I can stick it out that long.

In all seriousness, this is a nice thing, and I hope lots of people stop in to support the cheerleaders. We sometimes eat lunch at the Lincoln Inn, and it looks like tomorrow would be a good time to do it again.

You will have TVs inside the tent with the game on for those who didn't buy tickets before the sellout and can't make it into the stadium?

Yes. There will be TV's with the game feed on in the tent because the game is sold out. So if you can't get in you can still experience the atmosphere. There are no beer sales starting at 5:30pm til around 6:30pm or so, we are basically closing the tent down to get people to go into the game. If you can't get in you can watch the game in the tent or go to Fatty's. Also if you want to come out at the half, the tv's will let you know when it's time to go back in. We are trying to get people to enjoy the tent and the event and build the atmosphere. Also there are people that will be coming just for Oktoberfest and Red Woody's concert after the game, we are also trying to sell the game and the gameday experience to those people also. This is about alot more than just this game.
