Cuse/Hoyas Discussing 10 Year Contract
This will be interesting to see if it is just home and homes or alternate locations are involved (MSG, Wells Fargo nee: Wachovia, etc...)

I noticed Cuse later moonwalked on their initial statement but, What are peoples opinion about Georgetown potentially picking up the Cuse series??

I'm actually torn because I don't want them to have any inroads to the DMV recruiting ground. With Cuse in the ACC & Maryland going to the Big Ten next year, they couldn't sell recruits from the DMV the chance of playing in front of friends and family. I really wish the whole Big East would have shut them out, but I believe St. John's & Villanova have a series with them. If the DMV, Philly, NJ/NYC games are taken from them. Where will the recruit?? ACC territory (totally out of their base) & Syracuse area. Recruiting will dry up and Boeheim is on his way out the door anyway.

On the other hand you don't want to see a great rivalry die & have a great Non-Conference opponent scheduled year in & year out.

I don't think schools act like that. They are thinking about who will help us sell tickets and who will make our TV partners happy. It also means another nationally televised game every year switching between Fox and ESPN.

I'm now wondering if Cuse has any intention of extending their series with my Johnnies.

It would be stupid for Cuse to give up any games in the Garden. If I were Cuse I would schedule games against St. John's, Nova & G'Town every year. They need to sell recruits in the Northeastern corridor that they have a chance to play back home. They now will only be playing down south & artic Western New York.

Exactly cuse doesn't need this as deal as much for the gate, as to keep a link to their traditional recruiting hotbeds. Remember Mayland is leaving the ACC next season & no gtown on the sched, bye bye DMV.

What is Artic Western New York?

Syracuse is located in central New York. BTW, it was 94 in Syracuse yesterday.

My reading is Cuse wants to continue series with SJU, Nova and GTown permanently. As long as both sides feel like they are getting benefit it makes sense to continue them. Those thinking Cuse will fall of the map after Boeheim retires are delusional. Leader in attendance, national brand, one of the top recruiters in CBB as coach in waiting. If Hopkins fails Cuse will grab an established coach from a mid-major or high major program.

Georgetown would be better served with a 10-game series with Maryland that some sort of "neutral site" games at MSG with these ACC emigres.

Maybe Gross can throw a couple of football games into the mix. If Syracuse can play Wagner, they can play Georgetown.

With the Patriot League moving to 60 scholarships, this could be in the cards.

They've already given up a bunch of games in the Garden just by giving up the Big East tournament. There's no way they can make those up.
