Wojciechowski: Quarterback to build your college team around...Lynch?
Lynch is mentioned in Wojciechowski's weekly BMOC column on ESPN.com:
Quote:It's a simple question, but there's no simple answer:
You can pick one quarterback to build your college team around. Who do you want?
A&M's Johnny Manziel? Clemson's Tajh Boyd? Louisville's Teddy Bridgewater? UCLA's Brett Hundley? Florida State's Jameis Winston? Georgia's Murray? Ohio State's Braxton Miller? Alabama's AJ McCarron? Oregon's Marcus Mariota? Michigan's Devin Gardner? Nebraska's Taylor Martinez? Northern Illinois' Jordan Lynch?
Should I keep going?
This isn't about who is going to be the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft. It isn't about who spins the prettiest pass. It isn't about who plays for the biggest program.
You want a guy who can lead, perform under pressure, make the throws, command a huddle, inspire and win. And yes, I know it's a slightly squirrelly question because of the different skill sets and the kind of offenses they could run.
Anyway, given the candidates listed above, I'm not sure there's a wrong answer.

Nice to see Lynch's name on this list of talented players. His stats from last year earned him some mind share, hopefully "finish the fight" will become a reality this year and not just a rallying cry. If it does, there is no reason he would not be at the top of the list.
I was inspired by what I saw in the Iowa game, Lynch's passes looked to have a bit more zip on them and he throws a nice deep ball. On occasion he threw a bit behind some of his receivers but it was game one and I suspect he will only get better as the year progresses.

I'll be Mr unpopular and say Boyd. I love his game style, there is nothing in the play book you can't run with him at the helm. Much like lynch he has taken a team of good players and overachieved.

No doubt his passing has improved....Needs to work on "selling" the fake handoff. CH was a master at it. Oftentimes I couldn't figure out who had the ball.

Yea, when CH was running it, half the time I was looking at the wrong player thinking he had the ball, and the other half of the time the cameraman was fooled so I missed the play, if watching on TV.

Or they succeed but realize that Cutler's days are numbered and draft Lynch as a hybrid H back who runs, catches passes and is inserted in read option/wildcat formations. Imagine the stress on D coordinators when the Bears have both Lynch and Cutler on the field in the same play.
