Pg. 19 of the Game Notes for the RU game:

What does the chart show? It is essentially a 'participation matrix':
1). First, players who have played at all this season are listed as the rows. Players not listed are presumably being redshirted, if applicable, or injured or not playing because of coach's decision.
2). The two games played to date are the columns (pretty easy so far).
3). For each cell in the matrix a player is either: "START" (pretty obvious), "XXX" played, but did not start, or "__" (did not play, which means the player appeared in one game but not the other. Roback is a good example. Lisner did not play the 2nd game, to answer EMU79's question. Why? Who knows. Injury???).
Also, we can see McFadden isn't listed nor is Gillespie hence neither have played a down yet this season. Those are two who quickly come to mind as probably starters who have yet to play a down...
As the season progresses, the matrix will become more interesting as players get the DNP because of injury, for example, and the starting lineups change (player could go from 'start' to 'XXX" or vice versa, players burn their redshirts, etc. etc.
I love matrices... They are absolutely beautiful at summarizing much information into cells.
