I watched this game and contrary to what's being said here there was not 43,000 actual at this game. Parts of the stadium had huge paces empty, parts were tarped over, parts of the staduim hold more people. especially as you get higher. 43,000 just isn't actual. Now, it might be paid but there were no that many fans at this game.

The part about getting dominated is absolutely correct. People can ignore the facts doesn;t matter to me one way otr the other. I'll bet any coach at any level in this entire country would agree with my assesment.

If this were any other game and every single play was exact as this game i'm sure just about everybody would agree with me. Just take off the HOMER hat.

Difference of opinion.

I'm not getting into a verbal war. I stated my case from being in the stadium and not from TV or merely looking at stats.

Neither of us know how exactly many were there, but it was clearly more than 30K. 43K is obviously a "paid" number just like everyone reports.

Enjoy your middle school games, that's honestly the purest age of amateur football; all you have to worry about is over zealous parents.

1. Sure Duke had 3 turnovers...don't you think we helped create those? It's also not like we didn't have our own turnovers and mistakes.

2. Had the officials blown a QB sneak dead when the progress was clearly done, there is a very good chance the game is 21-21 with 5 minutes left. I still fail to see where one side was dominated or punched in the face. As I said, stats never tell the whole story. Your dependence in them, however, doesn't say a lot of good about you. The yardage disparity? We had a lot of balls flat dropped after hitting a receivers hands...if those catches are are, there's no significant yardage difference and this game may have gone a different way altogether.

3. I don't understand the mentality where some fans (not exclusive to Memphis) feel the need to disparage their claimed team with such fervor. Is their some Internet Fred you get by being pessimistic or by hating on your own? Or are you just the type that looks for the worst in everything?

4. Here's my talking points from the game.

...good effort, disappointing finish
...OL did not run block worth a damn Saturday
...WRs dropped too many passes that hit their hands, have to improve there
...defense did a good job keeping the game under control
...RS freshman QB in his first game, a lot of new parts on offense
...like the offensive scheme, but needs better execution...should come with more practice
...2014 will be an important year, but I think there's a surprise or two in store this year
...I think this year + 3 more is the max we'll get to call Fuente our coach.

so let me get this straight, you have going on over 14,000 working toward 15,000 no doubt. You say alot no doubt but what you say is your opinion , JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE ....I said i watched the game and I did.....I watched it on ESPN3, ever heard of that?

It a rare occasion that I'm described as "smart"......mostly civil, respectful, honest, and objective, but never "loose."

I don't recall the 30K number as being my call, but you can check.

30,000 probbly about right, possible 35,000.

Riddle me this, middle school football star...if a team is being dominated, shouldn't the result if the game be obvious pretty early? So, how do you explain a tie game with 8 (or so) minutes left that was on the verge of being tied again with about 5 minutes left. Don't copy stats again.
