Now we know why Holgerson is so big on the NCAA paying players... He doesn't want to do it anymore.

Why is anyone surprise this? I guarantee you this is something that is being committed at most programs big or small. OSU just got caught but eventually their will be more programs getting caught. Why, the need for the media to break a story that will gain national attention and make a career for some aspiring journalist. This is just the tip of the iceberg, more crap will be coming down the pike sooner than later I fear.

Look at how long they dragged their feet on USC's allegations. I'm surprised they didn't hammer "The U" when they had the chance.

I was thinking the same thing. What do you think is going on at LSU right now?

Oklahoma State is expendable. It's not like it's Oklahoma, Texas or Michigan. They're going to get butchered. Too many corroborating accounts from former players who apparently have no problem screwing over the institution that provided all that cash. Even the NCAA probably can't screw this one up.

You do realize that Miami is just walking around laughing right now, right? If you actually sat and read the facts behind that case, it was an absolute no brainer. Somehow, the NCAA jacked it up.

What's the point of being a University that plays by the rules? Oklahoma St used to be a joke. They threw money at the problem and now look at them, top 15 program.
Les Miles needs to get his balls clipped. What's the incentive for coaches not to cheat? By the time the NCAA finds out you're 3 jobs down the road.

Oklahoma St also needs to get run through and I'm not talking taking away wins 10 years ago. Take scholarships. Bowl intelligibility.

Interestingly the guy at at the center of this mess was hired by WVU and Holgerson a couple years ago. Ollie Luck announced that he is doing an internal investigation. WVU might be involved as well.

"West Virginia University is aware of an upcoming investigative reporting series in Sports Illustrated which - while focused on another institution -includes allegations against one of our current assistant football coaches regarding his time of employment at his previous Institution," Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Oliver Luck said. "Upon learning of the pending investigative report, WVU launched an internal review to ensure the coach's full compliance to NCAA rules while at West Virginia. The NCAA has also been contacted. While our assistant football coach has denied the allegations, it is the right thing to do to look into the matter and review practices here."

This will not be just a little thing for OkiState. They have always had a bit of sleeze in the background.

Agreed, it seems there is no negative to doing these things in the long run. You will lose a few scholarships at some point, but earn wins while the general public shrugs and moves on when recruiting violations are eventually reported.

I'm not so much surprised that it happened but more so surprised that a major program was dumb enough to get caught. Of course, I suppose Okie State wasn't a "major" program when most of the violations occurred under Miles' watch.

I'm really interested to see the final three parts of the story and how/if Miles is specifically implicated.

and yet they all seem to have plenty of money to spend to cover themselves with tattoos.

Okie St. may have bested every other program's scandals if this is all true. I hope Tulsa, North Texas, and all other programs in the area are clean cause the NCAA needs someone to make an example of for this scandal and it ain't going to be a school from the P5.
