RE: Quarterback Depth Chart
I looked it up. Through this point in the season, here is the SOS #1-8 for FBS teams.

1. Rice
2. Georgia
3. Pitt (only played one game)
4. Toledo
5. Buffalo
6. Virginia
7. South Carolina
8. Washington State

I don't think this upcoming game against FCS team is going to be much easier than Missouri though. However, I can't imagine their defense is going to be half as good as Florida's or near as good as Missouri's. The Rockets are going to need TO to complete his passes and tuck it and run when the opportunity arises. I really hope Flu doesn't have to carry the team on his back this week again.

Instead we're waiting for weaker defensive teams to make him look good. Hmmmnn.. go figure!!

Personally I've supported whomever was given the ball but with Dantin and TO, we had an option. With TO, we don't. Maybe Macon but other than that? I see your point but also I think there's a bit of apples and oranges.

We know how TO has played. I've no doubt that will come back. The team and coaches will support him. Will the fans? If they don't, Toledo doesn't deserve a top notch program in my opinion. Same no matter who is playing. Message board banter is one thing but if fans want the best a mid-major can be then once in that stadium they need to be the best fans anyone could want.
AMEN

I was at both games and based on what I saw, we should be at least 1-1 on the year. We have the talent to compete with a lot of BCS schools. The blame can be spread among several players but my biggest concern is the coaching and how we still do not put our players in the best position to win.

RE: Quarterback Depth Chart
This Saturday is a very big game--not because I think we may lose (God, I hope not), but instead because it does represent a chance for the Rockets to get everything going in the right direction heading into MAC play. Can the pass rush on D (which has already been greatly improved over last season) continue to gain momentum? Can the secondary--which has still struggled in coverage in the vertical game--slow or even stop Eastern Washington's significant air game? Can TO & his receivers finally get on the same page? Will the offense stretch the field vertically at times, and in those cases when we need short yardage to convert, will we see the "heavy" packageback? Will the TE finally re-emerge as a pass-catching option to the Rocket offense after being essentially missing for a few seasons? Can Flu have another 100/100 yard game, OR will he NEED to have one in order for us to win the game? Big game, and we'll get some better answers about where the team is as a result.

RE: Quarterback Depth Chart
This year they are all big games, every single one of them. For some reason there seems to be more emphasis placed on winning the MAC than winning these non-con games. I don't get that.

Maybe a MAC championship is more impressive on a coach's resume than beating BCS teams, I don't know. But, personally, I feel every bit as much--actually more--pride and excitement over knocking off these BCS teams and winning bowls than winning the MAC.

Beating the BCS teams proves that we can play with them. Winning the MAC proves that we can beat everybody in a conference that the BCS conference and sports writers look down on.

Why do you think we had all those record crowds in 2000-2001? Because we beat MAC teams? Heck no! Because we beat Penn State and Minnesota--something practically unthinkable in previous years.

It would make me angry and sick to think that a coach wouldn't go all out to win one of these games if it was within reach. To give it away because we still have to play the "MAC" schedule is BS. What are they thinking about--the growth or our football program or their next job? It it's the latter, please take that job now.
