NIU's Sebastiano earning Lynch's trust
http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2013-...rdan-lynch

The wide receiver was certainly more noticeable on the field Aug. 31 at Iowa in the Huskies' season-opening 30-27 victory.

His five receptions for 69 yards matched his catch total and surpassed by five yards his total from his 2012 redshirt freshman season.

Sebastiano's 27-yard reception in the fourth quarter kick-started the game-tying drive capped by a 33-yard strike from Jordan Lynch to Da'Ron Brown with a little more than five minutes remaining.

"He has talent," coach Rod Carey said. "That catch he made to get us started on that drive to tie the game was a great catch."

Read this in the sunday paper, good article...really hoping he can be that reliable slot guy, good hands and strong route running...you know, your typical white receiver

RE: NIU's Sebastiano earning Lynch's trust
Sebastiano is definitely a guy who should play outside not in the slot, especially with TLL playing the slot. He's got lots of potential, and he was highly touted out of high school.

I really liked what I saw from him against Iowa, in the spring, and fall camp. I think he could probably be an All-MAC performer. It has been noted he was VERY arrogant and has really toned it down. Nice to see he is maturing and that's making him a better player. Having this guy for 3 full seasons now should be nice. I expect him to have around 35-40 grabs.

Is this serious? Sebastiano is an outside reciever, not a slot reciever. Really, the only three guys we have that belong playing outside are Brown, A.J., and Canada. Tommy, Brinlee, Turner, and Beebe (if he plays) are all slot guys.

He's not Wes Welker. He's bigger and a better jumper.

Yeah, what he said. Also, I think to be an eltie WR you need to be a little arrogant/selfish.

Totally agree, you need to think you're the best and act like it. But there is a fine line between confident and Chad Johnson.

I agree about having him play the outside. I like TLL in the slot more, plus having Sebastiano on the outside puts a bigger body to run block. He has shown that he has great hands and can jump up and make a great catch. I think he will be a real asset going forward.

It was up there with many of Perez Ashfords clutch catches.

I don't know, have you seen all the posts about how high the Huskies will be ranked when they're undefeated at the end of the regular season?

If, they are 13-0 they will be ranked high. I am sure right now the players believe they will win every game. Only time will tell.

1.) you've been here a month champ so take it ez...

2.) A lot of that post was tongue in cheek , thus my comparison to Wes welker and slot position based soley on the fact he's white, your generic "Welker, Amendola, Stokley and the Great White Slot Receiver Stereotype"

3.) Analysis, Brown all but locked up an outside spot with a great performance last week and I am in love with Juwan Brescacin's size, so I want to think he should take the other outside position (pending real review of his catching and route running)...Tommie is all over the place and rightfully so because he's a match-up nightmare with his speed...that leaves an inside spot or "slot" for AJ (Angelo)....analysis after viewing 1 week is bullsh*t and I know this, the season will shake out and the guys will all be in their right roles....but that's my thoughts so far, hammer away at me if you will

I think AJ is/will be a much better player than Canada.

Certainly seems to have the smarts to always be in a good postion (see the 1Q poor pass by Jordan, AJ woulda gashed the defense if that pass is on point) and that grab he made over the defender later in the game was beautiful....

He is now. He's also been playing a little more. Brescacin still has a lot of upside.
