Richmond looks like the real deal
Defensive Lineman Wynn is a beast! I'm not sure why this team didn't get more preseason attention.

LT Richter (sp) just left the game with a knee injury....looked pretty serious.

and Nova surprisingly loses to Fordham. Richmond might be the team to beat being objective. Delaware and W&M have looked very good thus far though the Hens haven't played anybody yet. Then there's Stony Brook. Thankfully ODU is gone. UNH is UNH. This is a very strong league this year. Albany might not be a walk-over and URI is well, URI.

Fordham is likely the top team in the Patriot League this year so I was not surprised to see them beat Villanova.

I expect the so-called top team in the CAA to beat the top team in the PL.

Towson was the last placed team in 2011 and look what happened. None of the preseason polls really mean poo at this level. The CAA Champ could have 2 losses in league this year very easily.

Delaware struggled with the triple option and couldn't get any offense going today. So far the two teams that have impressed have been Richmond and William & Mary. Not drinking any Wildcat KoolAid here in the Lone Star State.

Does the loss to Gardner-Webb knock Richmond down a peg?

Richmond looks pretty average. Stony Brook has some game and UNH has to be hot for us after we have whipped them for two straight years. All other teams in the CAA look extremely average. I do wonder how JMU has become so average over the last few years. Same for Delaware. All good for us.

Richmond had some key injuries in the NC State game and not sure how good of a running game they have now. William and Mary plays a physical style, and they are somewhat overlooked. UNH received the invite to the playoffs instead of us last year, this team will have all the motivation it needs with that team. Agree with Stony Brook and the Tribe as solid teams, not sure what to make of JMU and Delaware but it's always good for the conference and SOS when they are having good years.

I watched Delaware against Del State and thought Hurley looked very good and then he stunk against Navy yesterday. Tough to judge since Del State was bad though I think their defense wasn't as bad (with a lot of All-MEAC players on the unit) as the score indicated yesterday. Their offense though and QB were putrid.
