coaches should be ashamed - red zone
Worst red zone TD % in America.
This is a coaching issue they have failed to rectify.
It has carried into 1st 2 games of 2013.
Complete failure.

I imagine they are but who has a suggestion? We need a large fullback for some situations and a short passing game for the others. We have a long passing game. With our o-line, I would think we would be able to get enough push against most of the teams on our schedule but staff seems to feel obligated to throw.

Seriously?
These are professional cooaches.
I thought we always defer to the old adage "they know better than us fans"
They should be trying a new answer every single week. But from the stands it doesn't look like anything new has been implemented in 15 games.
At this point I don't think you can continue to blame the kids for lack of execution of whatever "brillliant" game plan they are working with.

Emm, yes, seriously. Who has a suggestion? Are we treading new ground by complaining about red-zone performance? I don't think so. So, suggestions?

Exactly. I know I'll complain about play calling but that's because I PREFER to watch a particular kind of ball. I might suggest a particular play would have worked better in a particular situation against a particular team, always in hindsight.
In this case though, either the coaches have enjoyed hitting themselves in the head with the same brick for two seasons or they know something we don't. I can only figure the coaches do not figure we have the personnel to gain short yardage when the other team's D doesn't have a deep field to cover. I don't know WHY they would figure it but it's the only explanation I can come up with, without saying the coaches are dumb, which we know they are not.
Personally, I think we should just avoid the red-zone and throw over it. We get in there too close, back up to the 30 or just kick the FG on 3rd down. That'd confuse the other team.
That's MY suggestion. What's yours?

Mine was to drop down to FCS and open the schedule with Eastern Washington.

I'm a little worried about that one as well..... I am looking forward to a home game though.

We need a fullback or jumbo package for short yardage situations. Sometimes you have to play smash mouth football. In watching the Mich/ND game, even with Michigan's pro package, they still lined up a fullback and pounded it when they had too.

We have Rosenbauer as our lead blocker. This all goes back our coaching and how I am losing more faith in them with each game. The other question is how we don't use tight ends in that situation in some sort of play action scenario if u feel that Flu can't find the end zone.

Is Cassius the number 2 back? I've seen Hunt and Jones-More.
