Just walked back to the hotel room. All i have to say is that the Maryland fan-base and the coaching staff for that matter can learn a few things from the folks in Greenville. Classless. Can't wait to see them again in a few years.

Best defense odu has even seen. Diggs is a one man show.

I do not understand why we have defense coaching staff? not one tackle is good and they are playing like a bunch of sissies. even freddie mercury would have made a tackle. so shiatty ****** ugly to watch it. Somebody tell wilder defense is also an important component

Our defense has always been bad. Why hire someone from western michigan and boston college if they aren't getting it done. Tons of work to do before we sttart conference play next year.

Coker had the right idea..play fbs to build resume. We haven't played anyone like this and the ones we did..ga so...we lost. Growing pains. In middle school you're the bully and high school you are a punk again and get beat up until you can put he beat down on others.

The Western Michigan guy did a pretty respectable job up there from what I read.

Everyone has to remember that ODU goes from playing Campbell and Hampton in its opening games to East Carolina and Maryland. Even if the defense is better, and it may well be, we'd not be able to tell in their first games at that weight class.

Now if Albany and El Cid hang 40-some on the Monarchs, then it's time for a come home to Jesus meeting.

Rich Naggy hasnt even had a chance to recruit yet give him some time.

Not sure what the score says about ECU, ODU, and/or UMD, not that I give a damn about UMD.

Well this ODU performance has caused the entire boneyard banter site to decide that ECU is terrible, so thanks for nothing guys.

Haha I was waiting for that response. =] Glad we could help for a week or so.

I thought all those who placed such high regards on ODU's offense as FBS quality where smok'in and had not taken off the purple shades...yeah our defense sucked for that game. My only hope is that they where looking past these two (ODU & FAU) and to the VT game...we will see next week.

So to summarize things for Pirates this week:
ODU vs. Maryland = Pirate are bad
FAU vs. Miami (who just beat Florida) = Pirates look good.

Truth = ODU's offense is explosive if you can't get pressure on their QB
Maryland could, we couldn't.

FAU's defense is formidable, but their offense is lacking a decent QB and any creativity.

Pirates need to work on our dumb penalties and our poor tackling if we are to give Va. Tech a run for their money.

I'm just gonna say it. To quiet the naysayers the next 4 games we had better win. And while I would never wish bad on any program...we had better stomp all of them. 200 yards or less. No interceptions or miss tackels.

The next four games will show if we have improved.

Yes. But lucky for you guys with your offense you will outscore a lot of teams in C-USA. Defense is not the best in this league. I'm still saying if you guys were in C-USA this year you would have an above .500 conference record at least

To be fair, our offense did move the ball and we actually won the time of possession. If a few calls went the other way (TD called back, an iffy pass interference, some holds, and some no calls on MD) and the ints don't happen and the game is probably around 40-21. Maybe Maryland is actually good. The ACC looks pretty strong with Louisville, Miami, Clemson, and FSU. Will be interesting to see how Maryland does against them.

I'm hoping Maryland shows up strong against its ACC lineup, so ODU doesn't look as bad. Refs were terrible (huge blow on the opening TD).

Oh, and I think Maryland is moving to the Big Ten so they won't get a chance to play against Louisville.
