RE: Future ACC OOC football series
This is old news but, no one updated this thread.

VT will play WVU in 2021 and 2022

"The Hokies and Mountaineers will play in Morgantown on September 18, 2021. The return trip to Blacksburg will take place on September 24, 2022. In 2021, Tech will face Michigan and West Virginia in back-to-back games."

You'd think Miami could get a 2-1 with Arkansas State.

RE: Future ACC OOC football series
Our future OOC should have read like this:

2014: @ UGA, vs South Carolina, Ga St, Coastal Carolina
2015: Notre Dame, Ole Miss, @ South Carolina, Wofford
2016: @ Ole Miss, South Carolina, Troy, SC State
2017: @ South Carolina, Kent State, BCS OOC, in-state FCS
2018: South Carolina, @ BCS OOC, mid major, in state FCS
2019: Oklahoma State, @ South Carolina, mid major, in state FCS
2020: @ Oklahoma State, South Carolina, mid major, in state FCS

But thanks to the ACC we no longer have those games listed in bold, and we lost out on several opportunities for home and homes with BCS teams in '17-'18 we were working on. In exchange for losing those six games we get one against ND, and are having to scramble to fill the other slots.

Pitt used to play ND almost every year (typically 8 times a decade). So Pitt is also losing out in this deal too in the short term. In 2014 Pitt had to replace ND with Old Dominion. That blows. 2016 is a swap from ND to who knows now since we too hav a number of holes to fill.

RE: Future ACC OOC football series
A big hole opens up in VT's future schedules. The 2016-2017 Wisconsin games that were postponed from 2008-2009 are being postponed again until 2019-2020. To open up a 2016 kick off game for Wisconsin vs. LSU Sept. 3, 2016, in Lambeau Field.

http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_...me-for-lsu

Now VT has no marque OOC game for 2017-2019.

Of note, ND now appears on the future schedules of HokieSports.com as 2016 at Notre Dame. Clemson in Blacksburg in 2017 and at FSU in 2018. 2020 will have Wisconsin and Michigan and 2021 will have Michigan and WVU.

"Weaver said ESPN has been coordinating with Virginia Tech to remedy the situation, because the network owns the broadcast rights to the Wisconsin games.

“We have worked with Dave Brown of ESPN on the situation and moved the Wisconsin series back and have taken on another opponent, whose name I can’t release yet,” Weaver said. “But we’re going to play Wisconsin in 2019 and 2020.”

Weaver would only disclose that Virginia Tech’s new nonconference foe for 2016 and 2017 would be a major-conference program."

RE: Future ACC OOC football series
I vote we start a new thread with a better format that is more easily updated. As it stands now, this thread isn't accomplishing the original goal of being a reference thread.

Something akin to this would be great:
http://csnbbs.com/showthread.php?tid=567...pid7819483

I don't know how to do all that so I'd settle for a screenshot of an Excel or something.

However, Jurich is still making sure we will have at least six home games each year, due to the change of conference games in the ACC.

Syracuse scheduling guy says Syracuse has filled its OOC schedule for 2014 and 2015 but wouldn't name names so probably no contracts signed

Georgia State completes Clemson's 2014 OOC schedule

http://www.orangeandwhite.com/news/2013/...artner=RSS

@ UGA
Georgia State
Coastal Carolina
South Carolina

Reportedly working on new a series with Auburn, likely another home/home/neutral series, but possibly a multi-year home and home deal, or a home and home bookended by neutral site games at different locations, with Atlanta and a Florida site such as Orlando, Tampa, or Jacksonville mentioned. Anywhere to get the maximum amount of recruiting exposure.

Another rumor is expect Georgia Southern to be somewhat of a fixture on future early schedules once they move to FBS fully. The thinking is as long as they run their current offense it is essentially an extra week to prepare for GT. Not an every year thing, but possibly 3-4 times a decade.

Very nice for 2014. I hope FSU can get another SEC team at times coming up. They are trying for 2016 and 2018 or around there I believe. The SEC teams like Georgia seem to avoid FSU for some reason. FSU has tried to schedule them multiple times even wanting a neutral game in ATL for one year only (which isn't really neutral).

FSU's 2014 OOC

Oklahoma State
Notre Dame
Florida

then junk game.

Gee, I wonder why Georgia doesn't want to play FSU...? They didn't really want to play Clemson, IMO, but years of Tommy Bowden convinced them to take a chance (which they may regret after this weekend).

Oklahoma State [in Texas]
Notre Dame [home]
Florida [home]

then junk game. [home]

That is a sweet schedule. Very challenging, to say the least. Add to that the fact that you also get Clemson at home next year, and FSU may sell out the stadium with season tickets... you know, like VT does. 05-stirthepot

These SEC schools are such cowards. FSU has tried to get a non Florida SEC game for years. Tried with multiple teams for 2015 and now they are going to Louisville and others instead.
