I was reading this article from July 27th and it says that our current philosophy of 1 FCS, 1 mid-major and 1 major opponent many need to be re-visited.

Michigan, Penn State, Auburn, Arkansas, Minnesota, and Illinois are a lot of schools to be talking to considering we're almost booked up till 2017.

Edit : I was thinking something like:
2013 vs. Alabama in Atlanta
2014 @Ohio State
2015 vs. Ohio State
2016 vs. Wisconsin
2017 vs. Auburn @Wisconsin
2018 vs. Michigan @Auburn
2019 vs. Minnesota @Michigan
2020 vs. Arkansas @Minnesota
2021 vs. Illinois @Arkansas
2022 vs. TBD @Illinois

If we still had 4 non-conference games, sure. With only 3 (and 9 ACC games) I'm not so sure because every other year it would mean only 6 home games (though he has gone w/ only 6 home games before)

I'm not sure why he gave us a list of possible schools. Usually he is pretty quiet about things until it comes out. We are essentially hoping to sign on two major opponents. One for 2018/2019 and one for 2020/2021.

For the pinned thread: Pitt and PSU extended their series to 4 games for 2016 thru 2019. Home games at Pitt will be 2016, 2018 while PSU has the odd years.

Yeah, that's pretty bad but there's plenty of room to fit ND on your schedule from 2014 and beyond.

VT picks up Michigan for 2020 and 2021

@VT_Football 5m VT goes to Ann Arbor, Mich., on Sept. 19, 2020. Michigan returns to Blacksburg on Sept. 11, 2021

So that's 3 series with B1G powers. 2014-2015 vs OSU, 2016-2017 vs. Wisconsin and 2020-2021 vs Michigan.

Now all we need is a power school for 2018-2019.

RE: Future ACC OOC football series
We could safely expect one year is going to be Notre Dame in Blacksburg.

If you look at trends, VT tends to lighten up when the FSU series is scheduled. So I would expect those years FSU series is proposed.

Also, in 2016 could have ND and WIsconsin

Don't want to rile up the bunch on this board, but those same writers aren't pleased that FSU extended the deal.

In my mind USF makes perfect sense; Texas State is the one that makes no sense!

USF only makes sense as the 3rd best OOC game. They don't make sense if you are going to have 2 cupcake games.

RE: Future ACC OOC football series
2015 was set awhile ago so FSU has 2 cupcakes still. The talk is that Georgia at a neutral site could be on for 2016. Rumor is also that Georgia didn't want a home and home with FSU for some reason.

2014 could be Florida, Notre Dame and Oklahoma State OOC
2016 could be Florida, Georgia and South Florida OOC.

I would hope that as long as the ACC sticks these divisions to FSU that they would continue to get 2 really good programs and 1 good program with only 1 cupcake.

A possible UGA game in the works for 2016 neutral site.

Yeah UGA apparently doesn't want to play a home and home. But they are fine with a "neutral" site game in Atlanta, Georgia. Wonder why? I think FSU should make them play a "neutral" site game in Tampa Bay the next year or 2 years down the road.

RE: Future ACC OOC football series
And the FSU schedule OOC will have to have at least 2 tough opponents since the ACC can't get their heads out of their asses and maximize its assets in conference.
