Charlotte's second score is a safety. Now 9 - 0.

RE: Charlotte
End of first quarter and Charlotte had 11 first downs to 2 for Chowan. They play an up tempo game. As stated earlier, we will win, but its not going to be a cake walk. I can see them using every play in their book against us.

Just when you think Chowan might get back in it, Charlotte goes and runs back a kick-off. 26 - 7 Charlotte

Wait until their "D" lines up and sees Big Red under center and DQ coming at them. They'll see what big boy football is all about.

From my living room on WCCB in Charlotte. All their games are on TV.
Update: I went over to their stadium this morning to see what kind of atmosphere they had going on. Pretty good tailgating. Offered me beer and food. Students were going into the game one hour prior to kick-off. They allocate 7000 for students.

Charlotte is standing around a lot to start this half. Not a lot of fire right now.

I'm assuming you were the one wearing the JMU shirt standing around the Normbulance then. My dad pointed you out and then we started chatting about our trip to Harrisonburg in a couple weeks. Looking forward to it.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Normbulance, this is what I'm referring to:

That was me. Jason bought my season tickets to our game against you guys. I have a family member getting married that day. Nice atmosphere you guys have going on. Hope you can make it up to our game in Harrisonburg. Good game today. I came back home and watched from my living room.

I had an extra ticket for today's game too. If I'd known you weren't going to the game I would have offered you the ticket. It ended up going unused.

RE: Charlotte
Our lack of lights actually dictates it. While we could probably get away with a slightly later start early in the season, late in the season we'd risk it getting dark before the game ended if we started at 12.
It sucks, but we should have lights installed next year (and hopefully more seating.

More seating, as with expansion, or with bringing in temporary bleachers put up at the top. I can easily see bleachers being brought in and put at the top of just one side and give them to the students.
You guys have great expansion capabilities, but would be better served to introduce more seating a little at a time to keep the demand up until you are ready to make the big plunge into more construction.
I am concerned about your end zone seating. Compared to ours, the sight lines are a little low and a good distance back. Spectators will continue to migrate away from them as the game progresses.
All said and done, its a very nice facility, but you need night games, BAD. Fans are going to get tired of all that heat, especially the wives/girls. Priority one would be to bring in temporary lighting for the early season games next year.

Our schedule next year is almost the mirror image of this year. We have one home game before Sept. 27th, and then you guys are the only home game in October. Then we finish the season with three straight November home games.

Re: Charlotte
I'm in Charlotte for business this week so I decided to stop by Charlotte's new stadium since they will be a future conference partner. Not bad, not bad at all for a startup. I like how they sunk the bowl into the ground and provided ample room around all sides to expand when needed. However, I think they missed the mark on the seating angle. Great stadiums have steep seating angles as close to the field as possible.
I think Charlotte will be a worthy road trip destination next year and intend to be there.
