Question Great game ODU
My group tailgated with and met lots and lots of ODU fans...yall were a great bunch. Very nice and I hate we won't be in a conference with yall. ODU's football is legit, I was very impressed with your team! Good luck this season.

RE: Great game ODU
Hats off to ODU. I knew your offense was good and our defense isn't very good but I though if we protected the ball which we did we would win fairly comfortably. That wasn't the case and the game was in question until very late. I don't know how good the Pirates are this year but I think the Monarchs will be able to compete in C-USA from the start next year.

Good team and good fans too. You guys were pretty loud for visitors. 04-cheers

RE: Great game ODU
So the questions are being answered. But defense has work to do. I was happy with our showing. Both teams can throw but defense of both sides??? Some tape to watch.

It was a good game, but above all else another rowdy night in Dowdy-Ficklen. Pirates Party Hard.

My buddies and I enjoyed our trip to Greenville. ECU fans were very nice and welcoming. They made sure I knew that they wanted ODU to win every game except this one. Well, I said that sounds good to me, so hopefully that plays out.

Great turnout by ODU putting to rest the ticket sale questions. Your qb is as good as I have seen in a long time, maybe since Russell Wilson came into D-F. We have questions on D, no doubt and we won't win the league if they're not corrected. It was a great night for football, a great game, and I hope we continue to play ODU.

Great game ODU. I hope your offense is as good as everyone says; that is the only thing that will make me feel better about our D's performance last night. I was so pissed I just drove home to Charlotte after the game; probably not the smartest thing I ever did. I don't think you all have anything to worry about going FBS and being very successful. Good luck the rest of the way and this Pirate will be pulling for ODU against UMD.

Heinke is a once every 10 yr qb. Enjoy him while you have him. Wilder will not be at ODU for long, so enjoy him as well.

Great showing for the Monarchs. Both the team and fans deserve cudos. Good luck the rest of the way.

Was following on my phone, very impressed by ODU. That's a hostile environment you went into, definitely came with your big boy pants.

Thanks for the nice comments.

We definitely didn't shrink from the moment and were not intimidated. Like you said, many thought for the game to be close, ECU would have to have a few turnovers and maybe have ODU pull a trick play or 2. Neither happened.

Good luck Pirates.

The fumble that ending in a score was the difference. Take that play away and ODU could have won this game. Your team did not need trick plays last night. It just needed a break like we got. The two teams IMO were pretty much equally matched up. That is positive for ODU.

ODU looks like they could be on the fast track.
They have the infrastructure with 30K students.

It was a great game. Two great offenses battling it out. At half time my buddies and I decided that this game was "first one to 50 wins". Looks like we were right! Congrats on the win. Wish you guys luck the rest of the season.

By the way, we tailgated in the Belk Lot and everyone was very friendly and it was a great experience. Looking forward to hopefully hosting ECU up in Norfolk in the near future.

I disagree...Their little QB coupled with their hurry up offense were an equalizer. We were clearly the better offensive team, defensive team, and we had them covered on special teams. They only stopped our offense once, the others stops were due to our offensive penalties. Their QB bailed them out way too many times but that is more a testament to his ability as an extraordinary player than anything else...Without him playing QB we steam roll them....Just my opinion after watching the game on DVR this morning.

For anyone that watched on TV, how did the telecast look? Did FCS do a good job?

The same could be said for your team. Without your QB ...we steam roll you.

See how dumb that sounds!

It was a good game, leave it at that.

It was a good game. Our crowd was very flat. As someone said on one of our message boards, D is what gets the crowd going and we had very little D. Wish y'all could have experienced an energized dowdy! Hell... I wish I could have... I've waited all year.

Eh, it wasn't shown in HD. It was ok. I've seen worse in our games in the past. The announcers were a little underwhelming with their knowledge and mistakes.
