#25 Ore St upset by E. Washington
Lotsa 1AA upsets.
So why can't MAC teams get that much talent?
And WKU beat Kentucky. Meanwhile the MAC is stuck with UMass.

It's big that WKU gets to play Kentucky. I wonder how much longer that will be allowed to go on.
The non Ohio and Michigan schools need to start scheduling the relatively weak "AQ" teams in their home states.
Ball State - Indiana, Purdue (Notre Dame )
NIU - Illinois, Northwestern
New York - Syracuse
UMass - Boston College

RE: #25 Ore St upset by E. Washington
Seems like I post this all the time but this should be the Out of Conference Schedule for the non-BCS programs (played in any order)
1.) Game vs top power conference team
2.) Game vs FCS Team
3.) Game vs weak power conference team
4.) Game vs fellow non-BCS program

Looks like Toledo's home opener in a couple of weeks (against Eastern Washington) just got a lot more interesting.

I'm not sure this is a fair statement.
Last year didn't NIU go to the Orange Bowl?
Didn't we have some BCS beatdowns like Kent State over nationally ranked Rutgers?
We already have a win over Iowa in what appears to be a burgeoning rivalry game out in the midwest.
BTW, here was my post of 8:15 a.m. yesterday on 'games to watch'.

Neither true nor fair, but the Dr.'s statement isn't alone in these categories.

Ok, what's not 'fair' about it?
E Washington won, E Illinois won, why can't E. Mich get that sort of talent combined with its own?
Cincy devastated Purdue, WKU beat Kentucky.
NIU and BG had nice wins, the conference isn't void, but there's proof it could be better.

That was one of the few FCS teams that the MAC played this year that I thought would be a concern going into the season, especially since that was Toledo's "easy game". They're even better than I thought.

Before the season I picked E. Wash to beat us. The coaches know they're better than a lot of MAC teams. FCS powerhouse every year.

Wisonsin is going to run over everybody this year. Their O-Line is massive. Most of those Wisconsin lineman were 6'6-6'8, all about 315-340. Our d-line kids at 6'3'-6'5" @280 looked like midgets next to them.
1-AA, just like the MAC, will have powerhouse teams that can take down anyone, anytime. Add a few 1-A transfers, bingo. Towson has a whole bunch this year. UMass use to stockpile a lot of transfers during our better years. Transfers declined during the Morris era of 2009-2011 and recruiting was crap. UMass will need a few more years to develop.
Appreciate the love Dr T. Karma will find you.

I remember last season the MAC struggled in Week 1, but they picked up more Ws Week 2. I'm hoping it'll be like that this year too.

There is the old coaches adage that a team improves the most between the first and second games...not sure if true or not but if Miami gets twice as good next week not sure that'll be close to enough!

Academic standards are lower at FCS levels. Lot of the programs will take you if glass fogs up when you breathe. Thus they take on a ton of talented transfers.

Yep, Wisky's O-line is like a herd of elephants.

Well at least we know UK isn't exactly strong (and Illinois for that matter).

Nothing against Akron, but wouldn't you feel the exact same way if you were a JMU fan/alum?

I wasn't talking just about Wisc. Did you happen to see your results from last year?
Oh, and I hope karma finds me, tell me where I've been less than honest?

Maybe, but I'd have nothing to do with this statement if I were a JMU fan. Really?

Sorry, my comment was in regards to them thinking they could beat Akron. I wasn't specific enough.
