RE: Who will be UConn's new football coach?
I would hope that Bobby Petrino's days of job hopping are over. I sure would not want him in Greenville.
Skip Holtz would be a VERY good hire for UConn. Something tells me that he will not be going back there after one season at La Tech.
I don't know much about Paul Petrino.
Danny Rocco at Richmond would be a GREAT hire. I would say the same for one of my favorites, Steve Logan... although I'm not sure he wants to be a college HC any longer.
Jeff Jagozinski and Tom O'Brien would also both be very good hires.... particularly coach Jags. FWIW, he was interested in the ECU job the last time around.
You could also go for Tony Franklin; why not?

He is who a lot of UC fans were worried UC was going to have to settle on this past winter.

I don't see Jags, but Tom O'Brien would be a VERY interesting pick... Had success up at BC, knows the area, proven coach...BUT...
Does he resemble Pasquiloni too much? Older. Retread HC. Had success at a rival, regional school, but fired from last job. For a lot of people, it would look like subbing out one coach for yet another of the same model.
When it became obvious that Butch Jones was leaving UC, I was intrigued at the possibility of getting O'Brien at UC. It didn't happen, but I like O'Brien as a coach. I'm just not sure UConn goes back down that particular path with the next hire.
Assuming that, of course, they actually end up making a coaching change. Which looks somewhat more doubtful today than yesterday...

The guy UConn should have hired with they gave the job to Pasqualoni is Mark Whipple. He's a proven winner and an offensive genius. He's still only in his mid 50's. they could do a lot worse than him. Heck, they already have.

RE: Who will be UConn's new football coach?
I think if Bobby stays a couple years at WKU, two reasons, to do some repair work on his reputation I think he finally gets that this is important and that he has messed up beyond where winning fixes all ills. Two I think he really does like the people he is currently working with and most of his family is settled in Louisville only a couple hours from Bowling Green, Kentucky has become the place he has the most roots. That said anything past 2 years is going to be a super bonus for the HillToppers. To be clear he is not going to stay long at WKU but I think he stays two-three years there. If UConn wants a good coach I say look towards the MAC for a good up and comer..

I have never been a Pasqualoni fan....I know he has the NE connections but I thought and still think UCONN erred when they hired him.

RE: Who will be UConn's new football coach?
I was a Pasqualoni supporter in 2011. Then I saw him drop the running game against Vanderbilt (even though we were getting 7 yards per rush) and start passing with a freshman QB who threw 3 interceptions. I think we lost 24-21.
Even a drunk, sitting at a bar, would have stuck with the running game. Pasqualoni is completely out of touch.
IMHO, we need someone young & aggressive. Like Randy Edsall circa 1999. Or if it meant a HUGE p/r difference, I could go with Petrino. That might give the FB program some instant credibility (which we need).

Petrino (WKU HC)
Roman (49ers OC)
Morris (Clemson OC)
Might have to throw a ton of money at them, but I think it would be a home run for UConn if they could land anyone listed above.
