Google maps clearly shows the distance being 22.2 miles.

Even if you took I-10 and doubled back to Spur 601, it comes in at less than 30 miles.

There is no need to go through Transmountain.

Okay, I'll play fitbud's game.

1. Who said anything about Sunland Park Casino?

2. Regarding Sunland Park Casino, it is close to large arteries and very close to 1-10. That is a horrible example.

3. Again, who said anything about Sunland Park Casino. The area in question was Sunland Park Mall.

First of all, I absolutely love how you all split hairs on these issues. It entertains me to no end.

1. I picked Sunland Park Casino because it is practically across the street from the "sunlan park mall area". ( this is the part where you come in and explain that it isn't exactly across the street)

2. Sunland Park Casino is further away from I-10 than Sunland Park Mall. If i googled the distance from Sunland Park Mall to Montana and 375, it would be even less than 22.2 miles. ( this is the part where you say " I thought you said they were across the street).

3. Are we really debating the distance between Sunland Park Mall and Sundland Park Casino? The guy said he lived near Sunland Park Mall. The two are freakin walking distance.

Hey but please feel free to disect every inch of my post. That way you never have to admit the fact that it's not 39 miles and you never even have to debate the location of the stadium.

Scroll up. You are the one who had to use an emoticon to emphasize Sunland Park is in another state. This is your issue not mine. Nice tantrum though.

Sunland Park IS in another state.

Not throwing a tantrum. Enjoying every minute of this debate. Keep it coming hot stuff.

It's not a debate. You are arguing with yourself and do not seem to know it.

If you go to Google Maps, and put in Sunland Park Mall or Sunland Park Casino as your starting point. Then take the intersection of Montana and 375 as your ending point, it automatically figures out the shortest route.

You can manipulate it to take different routes.

The shortest and fasted route is I-10 to 601 and 601 to 375. Less than 23 miles.

1-10 does not connect to the 601.

I am a big fan of the 601. It has helped a ton of my commutes.

From the westside, one could take 1-10 to US54 to the 601 to Loop 375 and finally exit on Montana.

Also from the westside, one could simply stay on 1-10 all the way to the new exchange at 1-10 and Loop 375 and go north to Montana.

Or one could simple take transmountain from the west side all the way to the eastside and exit at Montana.

None of the above are realistically going to take less than 25 minutes. No matter what an outdated book says, no matter what Susie Byrd says, no matter what local sports radio says. No matter what emoticon I use or what silly name I call someone.

You are correct. I neglected to include the part where you have to exit I-10 to the North South Freeway and then proceed to 601.

All told, that route comes in at 22.2 miles.

Not bad considering it's non stop freeway except for the last part where you had to stop to get on 375 South.

RE: Finally a stadium idea that makes sense
this is what you've been reduced to fit. Not only can you not add, but your own argument is based on the entire reason why Transmountain was brought up in the first place. It would be stupid to drive on I-10, exit at airways, drive up to montana and proceed to take montana all the way to joe battle. Everyone knows that drive will take well over 30 minutes (you increased your threshold in the thread from the original 20 minutes to now 30 minutes).

Just so you realize how dumb your numbers are, you have a route listed at 26 miles and 27 minutes drive time. If you traveled at a constant rate of 60mph it would take you 26 minutes to drive that distance and that is with no street lights, no traffic, no acceleration, no deceleration, no turns, no nothing....

Please try and pay attention

There is a way to get from Sunland Park to Montana and Zaragoza without stops.

I-10 to North South Freeway, North South Freeway to 601, 601 to 375.

It's none stop freeway!!!!!!!03-banghead

You can make it in less minutes unless you drive like my grandmother. The speed limit is 65 on 601 and 375!

What I have been reduced to is trying to give you driving directions.

But don't fret. I'm a school teacher so I'm used to schooling people.

The routes are fine. Technically they are non stop as well. You just aren't going to be able to maintain a speed of 60 mph from point A to point B during the 6 o'clock hour.

This last sentence explains a lot about why you feel your posts/opinions carry more weight than the rest of us. Nothing like a captive audience to boost an ego.

Just curious, what level and subject?

This is how fitbud's originally argument started

Quote:Once the loop is completed, a stadium on Joe Battle Montana would be accessible from any part of the city within 20 min.

Since then, he has said not to take transmountain and given me a route that doesn't even include any part of the loop on it (which included almost 8 miles of montana.)

I can't blame fit on the 26 miles in 27 minutes because that is what google has on their site, but did he not think that 27 minutes to travel 26 miles is off considering it includes 4 different roads?

Fit, I feel bad for your students, in this thread alone you failed reading, math and geography

The completion of the loop would make Montana and Zaragoza accessable to people who live near Transmountain.

When you said that you lived near Sunland Park that made for a different scenario. Only an idiot would take transmoutain to get to Montana and Zaragoza.

I have on more than one occasion explained that there is no need to drive on Montana. I have come to the conclusion that you have no idea that 601 is a separate freeway independent of Montana.

You can actually get to Zaragoza and Montana without ever havning to drive on Montana!!!!
