I want a blowout and a full stadium. I want it to look good on TV, or the computer as the case may be.

No excuses, we should have won that game, plan and simple. We had a our chances to close the deal but couldn't get it done. Looks like it will be another long season for South.

They could bounce back and beat Troy and some SBC teams. This could accounted to first game jitters. They could be this year's MTSU or WKU. Though I'm not so sure. Good luck USA the rest of the way for the SBCs sake, except for Game 5.

lol thats not exactly a jab at Troy, we know we sucked last year. Its about time you beat us after 6 years of getting your feelings hurt. Its not like you smashed us either you won by 3 points, could have gone either way. Then you go on to shat the bed against stAte who proceeded to run the train on the MUTS. Then you got denied in the post-season, sad little blue ponies :.( So the difference here is Troy knew they sucked, but the MUTS are still in denial.

There was no excuse for that, although it wasn't as bad as losing to McNeese for an established program or a blowout loss to Indiana State.

That being said, being less embarrassed by losing than others isn't something I'd like to continue see happen.

At some point, we should stop blaming poor performance on the "were new" card (I suggest right friggin' now). We have personnel. We have more scholarships than SUU. We had the game at home. We had all off season to prepare. If we want to be seen as a 100%, for real, you betcha FBS program, we have to have expectations of performing like one. And we should expect the same accountability for poor performance as established FBS programs. I'm afraid we're sinking into a culture of accepting this level of performance.

I was willing to accept JJ's unconventional coaching decisions last year, accepting the decisions based upon a lack of depth. I'm less likely to accept poor coaching and excuses about lack of depth, especially when we're playing a team that has less depth than we did.

JJ seems to have a problem with starting the season. His seat is officially warm. Lose to Tulane or Georgia State, and his seat should be very hot.
