It has been posted on the EMU website that there is a key orientation event at the Convo starting at 3 or 3:30 Saturday afternoon with the FB game to begin shortly thereafter.

Maybe KPJ or someone else on campus can explain in more detail.

EDIT: See below and when I see the word 'tailgate' I think FB. I also see the words 'families and parents'

It would be nice to have say 5K (combined) new students + family attending Saturday evening.

Looks like the planning is perfect.

Parents and family members of new freshmen (up to 4) are invited to the first day of Fusion: First Four. Residence hall move in begins at 9 a.m., and commuter students and parents/family members begin at 10:30 a.m. in the EMU Student Center. The day for parents and family members continues with the Convocation Ceremony at 3 p.m. in the Convocation Center, followed by a Parent and Family Tailgate (dinner included) courtesy of Campus Life and the EMU Alumni Association."

This should be the only home game I miss, planned to go but other plans had come up.

I am also pulling for 5000 plus fans, I think this would start the season right for the football team and also will start building a stronger fan-base for when we return home 3-0 to play Ball State... You heard it here 1st..

Dear Friends,
As long as the weather holds (rain wise), we should easily have 8,000 - 9,000 with some of the freshmen and their parents coming over from the Convocation Center. Not terrific, but something on which to build.
I hope you're right Pudge, with maybe a 2-1 record coming home, if not 3-0.

The cited stats are very impressive.

Orientation is set up to have Freshmen, or FTIACS (First Time In Any College) as they're referred to now days, and their families attend the game. Let's pray for good weather and a big win.
