High praise from CFN for some SBC teams
http://cfn.scout.com/2/1319434.html

"Arkansas State will win the Sun Belt and earn a Top 25 ranking. Sure, the Red Wolves will have their hands full against Auburn and Missouri, but the three-headed monster of Adam Kennedy David Oku, and JD McKissic will have the team in position to win every game this season."

"The SBC will record two victories against the SEC again this season. Arkansas State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, and Western Kentucky are that good."

We get Tennessee, I guess we will see how Dooley left that team. That would be a HUGE win for us.

Probably not yet. Lets see if we can beat Tulane on the road first in front of 2 to 3 thousand Tulane fans before we start talking about running into UTK and coming out with a win.

We need to see what happens tonight against Southern Utah. If lose this one, it will be another long season for the Jaguars. I think we win it in fine fashion, but, as we know, it must be done on the field.

I didn't say we would win, I said it would be a huge win if we did. I think we will outnumber the Tulane fans in New Orleans.

I'll be watching intently tonight to see my Jags take the field.

Tulane's attendance, while pitiful, has had no negative affect on their position in the hierarchy of college football. Tulane's brand recognition and market size have enabled them to stay associated with the likes of Houston, Memphis, and SMU. ECU, who regularly sells out its 50,000 seat stadium, would have been in an AQ conference a long time ago if attendance meant anything.

you are right. if they didnt have EAST in their name they would be more highly regarded by the media and the average fan around the country. that's the same problem with all the "at" schools..U-La @ is struggling with this as are several others. It is hard to establish brand recognition unless you somehow become a media darling like boise state..tiny little schools like tulane and rice once ran with the schools that are now the big boys and are still somewhat associated with them..

We're very aware of all that's wrong in college football...still doesn't mean we cant make fun of Tulane's attendance.

RE: High praise from CFN for some SBC teams
While you are correct regarding Georgia State's attendance, I am hopeful now that some close-by schools with real football programs from the Sun Belt will be visiting the Dome, our attendance will at least exceed the Green Wave of Tulane. South Alabama traveled very well a couple of years ago in the dome and I hope they can do the same on Thanksgiving weekend this year.

Georgia State gets a pass until we start seeing what the crowds look like against FBS teams...give them a chance to prove themselves first.
