Anyone know the status of Sprague and McClung? Will either play this Saturday?

From the quotes I have seen, I think we are reading two much into the two deep--- especially at RB and WR. Tuberville will likely play 3-4 RB's and has indicated he desires to play 7-8 WRs in a game.

Heck he also said he would rotate some along the offensive line.

I have a feeling we'll see a lot of rotation in many player groups, at least as much as depth will allow. It's forecast to be a hot day.

Surprised to see the OR after Eric Lefeld's name. Guess that means Cory Keebler is looking good.

CTT said that he would play 25 guys on each side of the ball on Saturday, especially with the heat. Don't be surprised to see guys in for 3 to 4 plays, and then come out for a rest.

Dang. See why "twisted knee" always has me expecting the worst?
Sucks to lose a returning starting center no matter who the backup is. That is a tough one.

Posted about this and Sub rightfully took it down, but he won't be playing again. He had a complete tear of the big 3 (ACL/PCL/MCL). He'll be lucky if he can jog within a year, let alone play football ever again.

What is the story with Tion Green? I was surprised not to see him in the 2 deep anywhere. I suspect he is still at Running Back? The guy would make a hell of a defensive player IMO.

Runningback is one of the positions where UC will rotate constantly to create a different wrinkle on offense. Tuberville mentioned they'd use 4 on Saturday (RDA, Williams, Green, Moore I assume) so I'm betting if the 2-deep was expanded to 4-deep and more reflective of how many reps they'd get we'd see them bunched up together.

Ohhh... The Triad, ouch. That's horrible...
But didn't Carson Palmer suffer the same injury in the 2006 playoffs? He was back in late August and never missed a start all season... but of course, that's just one example. Sadly, tearing all three ligaments is more often than not a career killer.
I wish nothing but the best for the guy.

Palmer only tore his ACL on the KVO hit in the playoffs. For reference Dustin Keller (TE for the Dolphins) tore all three a few weeks back and the immediate thought was that his career was over. Now they are saying his rehab will be anywhere from 10-16 months depending on nerve damage.

Thanks. Good to see he is still somewhat of a factor. I thought that kid was such a good athlete coming out of HS.

I hear Tion tends to drop the ball a little, yet I still thought he looked really good at the practice I saw.

I still dont know that RB is his best position on the college level. I always said I thought he'd make a hell of an Outside Linebacker or even Strong Safety. He is an explosive athlete who plays physical. Would be a great fit on that side of the ball.

Not surprised one iota !!!
If you watched any of the game tapes closely last year ..He was abysmal in passpro
Had his arse handed to him by DE's from Temple..UCONN..and Del. St. To name just a few of those "Power schools"...The problem is/ was his weight..Way to light in the shorts..mostly beat by guys bull rushing him, but hey he was Butch's and Mahoneys darling..1st team big east..Gee guess who voted
Keebler was in Jones's dog house forever after he violated team policy, and played BB which resulted in a severe ankle injury. He was never going to play at UC after that as long as ***** Jones was here at UC.
See: S. Hooey who what a coincidence ? Also got thrown under the bus as well.
Whom BTW is still on the Rams roster as of the first round of cuts, and on the active 75.
Politics says you don't place a former 1st. Team all- conference guy on the second team just like that....You have to let it marinate a little.
Cureton is also going to get some looks....Tubbs wants SEC size lineman, who have quick feet...Not undersized lineman who are supposed to wear a defense down with up tempo no huddle offensive schemes..Yeah Butch how many times did we get to see that?.....With the depth that SEC teams have, you can watch Tenn. get annihilated this year....Bank it !!
(05-14-2013 08:28 PM)rath v2.0 Wrote: Well that makes great sense...he ran full contact in practice but they didn't think he was healthy enough to play and risk injury? With how idiotic Butch was at times, you never know.

Being objective that will have nothing to do with Butch Jones and everything to do with the horrendous roster Derek Dooley recruited to Tennessee over a 4 year period. It would take any coach in the country at least 3-4 years to begin to get Tennessee competitive again.
